I am feeling like the biggest baby the last 2 days. I had to lay down for about an hour midday due to nausea, headache, and dizziness. I have these fears that my body is not strong enough to handle being pregnant if I cannot even tolerate getting there. Blah. I feel a little better now and will be taking it easy tonight.
My meds that I was missing finally came. I still need to fight the company since I think they screwed me on what they charged the insurance company vs what they actually sent me. I paid out of pocket and will try to straighten out next week while I am off. They charged for a "quantity of 3" for 900IU gonal-f's. I received 2 pens. I am getting conflicting information about whether they charged 2 or 3 pens to my insurance, which affects my max allowance for units per month which is why they were rejecting it. PLUS, they should not be charging for something I did not receive. It does come in 1.5 mls so they are trying to say they charged 2 pens = 3ml = quantity of 3. Uh, no. I can see what was charged to my insurance on the website and a quantity of 3 900IU pens = 2700IU vs the 1800IU that I received. I ramble, sorry. This has been driving me NUTS. $950 is not chump change.

Lots going on today! High-fives and hugs all around.
Since we have so many people cycling right now - is the board ok with having BFPs only posted in their own thread instead of the randoms? Even on good days, it can be a bit jarring to be absentmindedly reading the randoms post and come across a BFP announcement. I don't want to dictate how the board is run, since I think we have a really good thing going on here, so please tell me if you think this request is ridiculous.

I agree with this! I know we have discussed in the past as well and the consensus was to have a separate post. :-)

I just went through something similar with the Gonal F pens except not with insurance since I am 100% OOP. The little sticker on my prescription said that I was prescribed "Quantity: 3" I noticed I only had 2 pens when I got home and I called them immediately and the guy told me that they mean 3ml and that each pen is 1.5 ml. The price on my receipt ($1,416) seemed reasonable for 2 pens so I think they were right. This stuff is so confusing though. I wish they were more clear with everything.
scm1011 IM is no biggie. I do them myself (hurts less than when DH does them) and I ice for 5-10 minutes before and go for it. My nurse told me to divide your butt cheek into 4 quadrants and inject in the upper and outer quadrant along the same line as your butt crack.
SO they came and took my student whose mom OD'd last week out of school at noon to tell him. It's been 8 days. I can't believe they've waited so long. I'm so worried about the poor little guy. In addition to my breakdown this morning, my H is having a rough day too. I need to think of something fun (and cheap) for us to do this weekend to get us out of this funk!
starryfish, 5am is crazy! @daylily, Hope everything went well Sounds like things are looking good scm1011, Good luck with your trigger! It really is NBD. oneslybookworm, That's so exciting! kristind3 You are triggering tonight too? YAY! FX for your embie Mushe, Good luck tomorrow! That's such a pain to worry about @bigredgum
I agree with thoseareradishes that BFP's should be posted in there own posts. SUrprises in randoms are tough some days.
We are at my grandpa's house visiting. We flew last night and it was a super smooth flight except for one spot of turbulence we hit that was seriously the worst I've ever experienced. It was unexpected and I was in the bathroom flying around all over the place. I hit my head, it was scary. The flight attendant said it was the worst she'd been through in 16 years. Anyway, my trip otherwise is good so far. Tomorrow we're having a big family lunch with like 20 people coming over. I'm looking forward to it.
Since I'm not on a computer I'm not good at tagging but I've been reading everything and I'm rooting for all of you!

Was the $1416 for 2 pens? So roughly $700 a piece? They charged my insurance $3300 ($1650/pen if only 2). It just seemed really outrageous since they charge OOP $900/pen ($725 with my fertility center discount). I'm just worried that my insurance company is interpreting the total units dispensed incorrectly since when I call them they assume I got 2700 IU. Both the pharmacy and insurance give me different answers each time I have called (like 10 times lol). I'm too cranky to deal with it anymore until I am done with my cycle. :-P
Awesome!!!! Which trigger shot is yours? SubQ or IM? Mine have been IM and ending up being ok. I did it in my thigh myself (choice of thigh or butt/upper hip)
IM, which is why I'm a little nervous. All my shots so far have been SubQ. I was told to do butt/upper hip. I'm not sure if I want DH to do, or if I should do myself.
I was nervous with IM. I had my husband who is a physician assistant do it at first but now I've been doing them myself. They hurt way less when I do them myself. I think he's disappointed he doesn't get to stab me with needles anymore
Mushe- I am curious about this overfill, since the pen states 900IU, but in the packet it states there is 1026IU I think. Someone here mentioned their nurse would extract what was left (thoseareradishes?). I am kicking myself for throwing out the remaining 126IU's from my first pen since that's like +$100.

I used follistim, and the cartridges always had about 100iu overfill. So on a 300iu pen, I usually got about 400iu total, and this was the same regardless of size. Therefore it saved money to buy 300iu pens, because you got more for "free" - 300 extra iu from 3 300iu cartridges (so 1200iu total), vs a 900 iu cartridge where you only got 100 iu overfill (1000 iu total). With the follistim pen, you dial up the dose you need and if it runs out, the pen stops. I didn't need to do anything to get the overfill. However, I don't know how much was left in the pen after it wouldn't discharge anymore - I could see a little bit still left in the cartridge.

Yes! My nurse was able to extract (just barely!) a 300iu dose for me from the overfill on 3-900iu pens, so I was able to save my one 300iu pen. My nurse said I *should* be able to draw it out myself, but I ended up not needing to.

Yes roughly 700 a piece so it does seem like the amount they charged your insurance is a little high. Sorry
Mushe - No-- I do t think they charged for overfill. That's just how they write the quantity for a 900 IU pen I guess. The price they charged seemed reasonable compared to some places I've seen.
As for the overfill. It just comes out at the end. When my pen said I had zero I was able to get another 50 IU out. The person who had their nurse mix them just did that so they wouldn't have to stick themselves twice. Yesterday I dialed it up to 150 and only 50 came out so I used another pen for the remaining 100.
I know it supposedly has 1026 in the pen but I only got an extra 50 plus the 37.5 I used to prime the pen. So... 87.5 total. Not sure what happened to the rest haha

yeah, some of mine definitely didn't have 1026! I was willing to multi stick, but my nurse was nice and tried to avoid it, since I was on 300iu.

I thought this has been decided long ago that bfp are to be their own thread not in a randoms. So clearly I am on board.

It was but we have a lot of new people . Just wanted to make sure we were all still on the same page.

I had a super long day and am just getting here.
All the luck and positive vibes to Mushe tomorrow! Yay for triggering scm1011! It's almost time! @bigredgum Yes, the extra medicine can be extracted. I don't think we got out the full amount of overfill that the pen indicates, but it does add up. The only tricky party is getting the conversion for the syringe you use to do it. I'd save the pens in the fridge and bring it like 5 or 6 at a time for a nurse to do it for me.
My fert report is in! 20R, 16M, 12F. We are THRILLED. That means I have 22 2pns growing in the lab right now. I'm just so happy with this outcome. We have a few hurdles to go, but stage 1 is successfully complete. I've had some DOR guilt lately since this retrieval was so successful, like maybe I'm a poser. We never predicted I would do this well and will likely lose a lot in the growing to blast and CCS testing stage, but I still feel guilty about my results with the DOR diagnosis. IF is so not fair.
Don't have DOR guilt, it's a crappy diagnosis but it's good to hear when someone with it has a successful retrieval and a high fert rate! That's awesome Chrysanthemum
