I've been lurking here, looking for some help. I seem to be unable to figure out how to dress casually - I do great for work attire but then have a day off and can't figure it out.
For instance - with skinny jeans I always wear boots, but with a straight leg or boot leg I have no idea. What do people wear in the winter with those? In warmer weather I have some 'no sock' options, but seem to have nothing for cold weather when I have to wear warm socks.
Any suggestions? I need to pay more attention to what other people are wearing.
Pointed toe pumps are the only shoe that I like to wear with bootcut jeans. Anything flat/round/chunky makes my legs look short & stumpy.
The only time I wear jeans like this would be to the park with kids, etc. So, no pumps :-). I am super tall with super long legs, looking shorter would be ok with me!
I also wear sneakers or hiking shoes with them (Merrells) but I thought you wanted a little more stylish. If I am going to park, comfort is the key! I do have Toms high tops and Toms suede boots that I wear also.
I think the solution to this is for me to get some 'non gym' sneaker style shoes. Mine are so big and clunky and bright. I went to the park, a car dealership, to a friends house for a drink and grocery shopping. Hate wearing gym sneakers with jeans to everything, feels so frumpy so I wore boots but they just do lay right when I do that and ride way up for some reason.
With boot cut, I usually wear ankle boots (which everyone else now calls booties--I don't understand the name change). I wear casual sneaker type shoes with my straight leg jeans.

I wear the same shoes regardless of what style pants I'm wearing. If I was working or going to dinner, I might wear pumps, but if I was playing with kids in the park, I'd still be wearing booties or sneakers same as always. You're overcomplcating this unnecessarily.
