My company just increased paid parental leave from 12 weeks to 16 weeks! We've been waffling whether to start trying for #2 this year or next year--maybe this is a sign?
Had a productive snow day. The kids and I made cookies, I vacuumed the whole house, cut my fingernails, shaved my legs, and dinner is all prepped and ready to cook (it's only 4:30 here). Ds didn't take a nap, but hopefully that will help with the playing for an hour before he goes to sleep at bedtime.
Speaking of bed time....I think I've finally figured out how to have a peaceful bedtime with ds. Prior to this week, it had been full of tantrums, getting up a million times to go potty, deciding he didn't want the toys he took to bed, and yelling (both on my part out of frustration and his part because he's 3). On Sunday, I started sitting him down each night right before bedtime and telling him that he can get up 2 times to go potty. If he gets up after the 2nd time, I will take an airplane away each time he gets up. And if he decides he doesn't want the toys he takes to bed originally, then he doesn't get any. And if he hollers at me more than the 2 times to go potty, I start taking airplanes away. Bedtime has been so much more relaxed and peaceful since I started that. Hopefully it continues.
I want to Wahoo's for lunch and I'm pretty sure Vicki from RHOC was there. I'm always surprised when I recognize someone from reality TV out and about.
Is there anything better than getting new bras? I got three shipped to me today and my boobs are on fleek. (In other news, I apparently need to get new bras more often.)
I woke up this morning feeling kind of shitty, like one side of my throat was all sore and stuff, then after a few hours I felt fine. h and I went out for lunch this afternoon, and out of nowhere it was like I'd been hit by a truck. Full on fog, sore throat and ears, feeling like a pile of crap. What a bummer, and not a good way to end our date.
