I'm wondering what girl wore the wedding dress to prom, lol.
A girl in my class wore the one on the upper left to our senior prom and got a lot of shit for it (she also copied off me on the PSATs, but that's another story).
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain

This thread is giving my horrid flashbacks to my senior prom in 1994. There were a ton of dresses like those at my prom. My dress was more southern belle style but I was in a wedding a month after prom and had to wear one of those brocade patterned, off the shoulder, high/lo hem monstrosities.

It looks like a wedding dress, I just don't get it, but to each their own I guess, lol.
My best friend went to the prom and because someone was wearing the same dress she was she literally went home and changed into another dress.
My actual prom dress was actually a pretty elegent long black dress. Mostly because it was really hard to find a dress that fit my boobs. I desperately wanted something cooler and stylish.
The struggle is real. I went with the rule "if one part is on display, keep the rest covered" because there was no hiding the girls.
This was my prom year and yes! This is very on point. I wore a gold beaded gown with a split that my mother and I traveled pt of state to get after visiting, and arguing in, every dress shop in town. Then, my transgender hair dresser at the time said, "Miss SFY, bish, I KNOW you're not going to your prom without gloves!" And proceeded to lend me hers and beat my face. I killed it lol.

My 1992 prom dress was the far right JM, from Dillard's, except all white with a full skirt. I still have it - my niece wants to go all Molly Ringwald on it when she's in high school!!!!
Mine was knee length, strapless, royal blue chiffon and had a matching sheer scarf that I wore draped so the ends hung down my back. And dyed shoes, obvi. I thought it was such a timeless look at the time, LOL. Looking at these pictures, I realize I was much more a product of my times than I thought.

Ha! This would have been the year before my junior prom. I remember going to some store in the mall with some friends and finding the cheapest, tackiest dresses I could, teasing my hair as tall as it would go, and dancing my ass off with my friends while everyone else sort of stood around uncomfortably waiting for the after-prom stuff to start. We made a bit of a mockery of the whole thing, but man, did we have fun!
Found my prom photo! Cinco de Mayo in the year 2000. I wanted a yellow dress and, dammit, I got a yellow dress. It had slits up both sides. Very Marilyn Monroe-ish.
I looooooooved my junior prom dress (1994). It was completely different from anything else. I still love it to this day. I think I have a picture here.
I actually liked all my formal dance dresses. I managed to stick with pretty simple and classic designs. I wore a dress in 96 to my friend's big formal at Bucknell that was amazing. I wish it still fit.
