OMG, if you watch the video where they enter the house, you can see George standing there in his robe waiting for them (also, I'm seeing on Twitter that he was allowed to stay up 15 minutes past bedtime to meet POTUS and FLOTUS):
OMG his pajamas and little robe, SO CUTE. And he got to stay up FIFTEEN MINUTES PAST BEDTIME. I know in my house that would mean POTUS would officially be the new favorite person.
Can you imagine having that much white in your living room, nevermind all the antiques, with two little kids? I cringe!
I'd bet this is the 'formal' parlor used for entertaining. I.E. The kids aren't allowed in there except for special occasions (like meeting POTUS ad FLOTUS) so it's relatively safe.
In my heart I want to believe that K&W let George stay up because they think the Obamas are amazing people and they wanted him to meet them/have a photo of him with them.
I feel like these 5 could rule the world and I'd be ok with that.
The stuff dog that looks like Bo is too cute. Also I love getting a peak into their apartment and yeah I agree with pp, this has to be the formal living room. That would be a nightmare if you had to be in there frequently with kids. Do you think Kate and Michelle slipped down to the nursery so M could peak at Charlotte? lol
And I want Harr....err, Kate's dress. Well ok both. Also, poor Harry needs a SO. He's been the third/fifth wheel for too long.

I'm single! Too old and chubby, but I can bake! Oh- maybe then I could enter the Great British Bake Off??
I'd love to know what they REALLY dress George in for bed. The robe and matching pj set and slippers are adorable, but I'm wondering if it was just for the cameras. As cute as it is I hate to think of a little boy having to be so stuffy.

It would have been great if he came out in Thomas the Train pajamas or something :-) he's such a cute kid.

It's almost certainly a costume. They have been very consistent in how he dresses for public events and pictures (with the single exception of his first day of nursery school). The PJs and robe etc fit that look. It's part of creating his public image as different from his private (see his first day of school pic where he is dressed like a pretty typical kid his age)

The PJs under the robe looked like a cotton flannel... my three year old has a set of cotton flannel PJs I bought him to wear at Christmas that look like a very similar style. THey're warm and cozy and super cute. The fact that he has utterly refused to wear them notwithstanding, haha. He also has a robe that he wears once in a while. So yeah, it's probably a costume, but it's not necessarily that strange of an outfit for a little boy to wear to bed.
Yeah I am sure he wears normal PJs to bed lol. Maybe the robe though bc I do know some little kids have robes and like them.
I was reading something today about how Kate dresses them not just in the fancy clothes (which makes sense in terms of her attempt to differ his public image from his real image) but the SAME clothes so they look very standard and classic across the board. Like George's public outfits are almost all variations of the same thing. And Charlotte - who has been photographed very infrequently - wore similar dresses in the Christmas card pic and the new Annie Leibovitz picture.
Kate is definitely working to keep the kids very classic and standard (that's a good word for it!). I sort of wonder if part of it is she knows how much attention is paid to her clothing and doesn't want that to get out of hand for the kids, plus pictures of them won't be as sought after if they look the same all the time and you can't say for sure it's a different day/outing. Sort of like how Daniel Radcliffe used to wear the same outfit out (I think it was after performances of How to Succeed?) to screw with the paps a bit.
Oh and yes they're all gorgeous (love the new non-bad boy Harry image) and I can't believe how much hair George has compared to his last pic. Maybe it's the way it's combed.

Agreed. Kate's dress was far too matronly. Mid-calf is a hard dress length to pull off, even for Kate.
What I really noticed in these pictures was the hands clasped in front posture Kate always (has been taught to) adopts. In the picture of all 5 outside, Michelle has the same hand position but it looks more natural. Kate even clasps her hands together in the inside picture where they're all talking to George, and there it looks even more awkward.
Love, love, love all the pictures though! I kind of love that George met the POTUS and FLOTUS in his jammies. Even though those jammies were a costume.
What I also wonder is how they get the children to comply with the dress codes. I wonder how many tears there are before public appearances? "No, George. You can't wear your Thomas pajamas to meet the Obamas. Your nanny will have them waiting for you and you can change the second the cameras are put away. Just wear the adorable old man jammies for 10 minutes, then you can wear ANYTHING YOU WANT tomorrow."

He's stealing it from his dad. Like some sort of hair incubus.
