Can y'all help me help my SIL? She has the roommate from hell and needs to find a studio. She works in the North End and would love to live there but her max rent budget is $1500. She would like to live by MIT or North of the city on the red line.
Any suggestions are welcome. Especially if you know of any cheap apartments or affordable brokers to work with.
Has she been doing the craigslist search? I imagine there won't be a ton in that price range for that area even if it's a studio. Maybe she could find something in Somerville? Cambridge may be pushing it.
I live in Somerville on the red line (Davis). You can probably get a no frills studio for $1500 around here. I don't know why she'd want to live on red line if she works in the North End though. She's probably better off living off the Orange line. Craigslist is pretty much the way to go around here (I'm a landlord and that's how I advertise).

Idk either. I'll pass the "live off the Orange line" advice to her.

Because the green line will be there, too! Eventually. In 40 years.
I'd definitely suggest she stick to the orange line if possible. She might find something in that price range in Quincy, though, if she's willing to go south and commute a bit.

When we bought our house in 2009 our realtor kept reminding us that the green line would be finished by 2014! L-O-freakin-L
