Happy Friday everyone! What's on tap for the weekend?
scm1011 how have you been feeling? drloretta taking S anywhere fun this weekend? RockNVoll how are things across the pond? vtdiamond how are those babies??? They're getting so big! noodleoo did you make up your mind about your DD's first birthday?
I'm going to Portsmouth for a bachelorette party tomorrow thru Sunday. DS pretty much screamed/cried most of Mother's Day so I'm pretty much having zero mom guilt about this trip at this point. DH even told me to come home on Sunday whenever I wanted. I probably will aim to be home by midday, but I'm looking forward to adult conversation, a cocktail, and a good night's sleep in my own bed. The only bummer is that I'll have to pump, but it shouldn't be too bad.
Enjoy your weekend away, cgpm ! So jealous of your theater dates, RockNVoll ! I had a free night in NYC Monday and put my name in for the Hamilton lottery with no luck unfortunately.
I'm feeling pretty good - second tri starts tomorrow, woot! I've been traveling for work a ton, which has been exhausting. I leave again Sunday morning for a 4 day conference down in Florida, and then that's it for a while thankfully.
Ohh RockNVoll, how was In the Heights?? I heard it's fantastic!
At 14 weeks I am not showing at all, so no belly pics yet. I'm actually down to my lowest weight since college despite zero morning sickness. I assume it's from 3+ months of no alcohol lol.
When is F due? So exciting! Being an aunt is the best
ETA: Work travel craziness is due to 2 NDRs + 2 Industry conferences all within one month. Definitely not my norm!

scm1011, congrats on making it to second tri! I hope things continue to go smoothly, and that you're able to get some rest with all the traveling. cgpm, enjoy your weekend away! And definitely take the back roads home, ha. RockNVoll, congrats again on being an aunt. I hope your sister is doing well. And you're going to have to give us a full report of that Harry Potter play when you go.
noodleoo, how are our babies going to be one! How's your daughter doing? We still have to schedule that playdate- I'm going to be flexing during the summer and will have most Mondays off; maybe we can make something work then.
No set plans this weekend. Tomorrow, we may either hit up Sully's or take Ben into the city for his first trip (well, he's been to Harvard Square a bunch, but I thought we'd try to take him over to the waterfront). My husband has yardwork he wants to do, so there's definitely a trip to Home Depot in our future. Livin' the life, people.
This weekend is one of many that will be supercrazybusypleaseletmesleep. At least this evening will be calm, as far as we can tell. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to attend a local fundraiser and info session for my town. We have a lot going on: voting to build a new HS, getting a new library at some point, just got a new police chief and fire chief, the town manager had a no confidence vote that seemed to have been glossed over of late, we're getting a Sonic soon (maybe), and a private group is trying to revitalize our theater in the center of town. All politics is local, yo.
Tomorrow S has dance class, and her dance school has its first annual fundraiser in Dorchester tomorrow night. Anyone want to come see my kid dance for 5 minutes? LOL. DH is considering either going to an event tomorrow, coming home early for the fundraiser, or skipping it altogether. I'm tempted to pressure him to come to the fundraiser, but I'm trying to be a nice wife, LOL.
Sunday is church, and I'm taking S because they're doing a Mary crowning afterward and we're going to buy flowers for it. DH has a fighter practice in the afternoon, which works out perfectly because the MOMS Club is having a family fun day at the Y benefiting the local food pantry. RockNVoll , I almost spelled it benefitting a la the Brits
I started Couch to 5K last week and hope to wrap up Week 2 on Sunday. I have mild runner's knee in my left knee, but I'm doing every quad strengthening exercise I can think of to deal with the pain. It seems to be working so far.
I am living life vicariously through all the pregnant people and baby mommas. I miss the baby days, though S is rocking 6 right now. Her class had a spring tea yesterday, including fancy dress, bone china, finger sandwiches, and a cute little menu. I even blow-dried her hair straight (NEVER AGAIN! It took 20 minutes) Here are a couple of pix (all of her, I haven't gotten any with the 2 of us yet). It almost makes all the bullshit I had to deal with at her school worth it. Almost.
I'm exhausted and just want a low key weekend. Between the car fire/bomb threat on campus earlier this week and checking students out as they leave I'm tired. Tomorrow is the big move out day for non graduating students so I'll be working. On the nicest day of the weekend of course Sunday I'm going to brunch which is always fun.
Because I'm a total AW, here are some pictures of S and me at the tea. Yes, I got a fascinator just for the occasion. Not included: any of me trying not to sob as I slow dance with my baby. Damn sappy song...
I bought a bike last night. Today DH and I are going for a hike with a meetup group. Then I think I'm biking with two of my running friends and then I think we may go to a bottle shop for a tap takeover. Tomorrow I have a half marathon with my running group and day drinking and such after. We also need to finish fixing the toilet this weekend and do a few errands. We painted our master bedroom and bathroom last weekend, so I want to look for some new curtains and maybe some artwork to go above the bed since we don't have a headboard.
Hi Everyone! I have some great news, I got a job! I'm so excited! It looks perfect for me, very in line with the type of position I was looking for. And it is 20 hrs per week, 15 mins from my house. I'm so excited! I had a minimelt down before I accepted it. Thinking about putting DD in daycare makes me so sad as I know it will be a hard transition for her, but I think this will be best for all of us in the long run. I can't believe this worked out, I had really just started job searching. I'm feeling very lucky right now!
cgpm , enjoy your bachelorette party! I have zero mom guilt when I leave DD with H. I need a break and he needs time with her too. I always feel like I'm not normal because I'm like "see ya later!" and other people seem to get very sad leaving their babies.
5kcandlesinthewind , I know, I can't believe DD will be a year next week! It seems like it went by SO fast! I decided to do a small, mostly family party. I think it will be less stressful and we will enjoy it more. Next year we will do a bigger party when she will have friends to invite! Although I sort of keep randomly inviting people, I need to stop doing that! We're doing it Mem Day weekend. And yes, I'd love a playdate! I won't be working Mondays, so that definitely works for me!
scm1011 , congrats on second trimester! I started showing super early (or at least, my pants didn't fit at 8 weeks! :? ) but I never took belly pics. I think I have 3 from the whole pregnancy!

Congrats noodleoo! Sounds like a great fit. Ben's party is memorial day weekend too- let's pray for good weather, because our house is too small for even the relatively low numbers, eek. And happy birthday weekend to L, liveintheville!
Awesome news, noodleoo! Working part time seems like the best of both worlds to me. I can't believe your DD and 5kcandlesinthewind 's DS are turning one, time flies!!
Happy birthday to L, too liveintheville. Do you have something else you want to share with the class that I saw on FB?!?
drloretta, those pics are so sweet And you are totally rocking that fascinator.
noodleoo, congrats on the job. It sounds like this is something that will be really good for you. And as hard as putting DS in daycare was, I see how much he thrives there and how much he likes his "friends" and that makes it a little easier. I hope you have a similar experience.
