Most of the time? I get a simple, one-length cut whenever I get sick of fringey ends. Once or twice a year. Sometimes it's at Fantastic Sam's for $15 plus tip, sometimes it's at the nearest Aveda salon for $30-$40.
My last cut included balayage and was around $130 plus tip, IIRC. I do something along those lines every couple of years when I was something different, but I don't want to spend the time/money to maintain color so I try to get something that grows out well.
I've done short hair, but I like it long and man, doing color with long hair is really pricey. Luckily, so far I haven't had to deal with grays and deciding whether to color/not color those.
The average has been $35 with tip about once a year. I did get my hair chopped in Jan into an inverted bob and I now need to have it leveled off. But... I'm also contemplating just cutting it myself since it's just the front. Who was it who let their coworkers chop their hair?
Around $115.00-$160.00 + tip for color. It varies because sometimes I just do base color. Sometimes I add highlights. I go approx every 6 weeks. Stupid greys. I only trim my hair a couple of times a year.
Free- I get my haircut at Scott Miller by apprentice students. It always looks good. Color is cost of supplies (highlights are about 20) but I don't color my hair.
Foils and blending every five weeks for $45 plus a $20 tip. Haircut every six to nine months is another $45 + $20. Shampoo woman gets $5-10 (depending on who does it, because two of the women also do a lovely scalp massage).
