Ughhhh who booked the 8:15 am flight?! (Oh yeah, that was my bright idea)
DH and I woke at 4am to shower, strip the beds at our rental house, pack up the last items, and scooped the kids out of their beds and put them in the car by 5:30 am. We were at the car rental drop off by 6am and P & K family rentals met us there to pick up the car seats we rented from them. Can I just say again how awesome they were? Highly recommend!!
We took the shuttle back to the airport, changed the kids into their clothes at the airport and got them breakfast, and now we are in flight back home.
Next posts will be:
- Lessons learned (what we would do again and what we would change in the future) - Budget post (total breakdown of everything we paid and total trip cost - House we used during our trip and other vendors/restaurants
What flip flops are you wearing in the parks? I bought a pair of sketchers ff's this morning but I'm looking for something comfy and supportive enough to wear there.
Thank you!
The flip flops are the Nike Comfort Thong. I love them; they are like walking on clouds. I am super picky about shoe comfort and I was able to walk 5-10 miles per day in these every single day this week with no issues! Highly recommend.
I brought Skechers sneakers as well but it was soooooo hot here I didn't want to have hot feet too.

Sounds like an overall good trip, and yes, your kids are adorable! I'm irrationally sad you didn't like AK but I went in January when it was very mild weather.
I am back with a budget post now that I have calculated everything we spent for our total Disney World Trip! Hopefully this helps those of you in planning stages.
GRAND TOTAL: $6,851.48
And here's the breakdown:
Accomodations: $1678.14 (HomeAway house rental, 4 bedrooms with pool and hot tub for entirety of trip) Disney Park Tickets: $1516.00 (6 days with park hopper for 2 adults and 2 kids) Memory Maker photo package: $149.00 Tax on tickets and Memory Maker: $98.56 Magic Bands: $51.00 (bought our own due to staying off property for ease of entry, photo pass, etc) Flights: $742.40 (2 direct tickets from the Midwest to Orlando. I used miles for our other 2 tickets so they were no cost) Rental Car: $274.86 (Sixt, booked via Hotwire. Booked a full size but got upgraded to an SUV at arrival) Additional Rental Car Charge: $59.52 (not sure why we got charged for this, need to look into it) Gas for Rental Car: $35.64 Car Seat Rental: $81.32 (2 carseats for entirety of trip including drop off, installation, and pick up at our rental car site) Food: $1,499.58 Disney Parking: $120 (20/day) Airport Parking at Home, offsite location: $88.00 Souvenirs/Spending: $241.46 (this is not including that the kids each had $100 in Disney gift cards that they used which were bday gifts and this does also includes a few little gifts we brought back for others) Travel Insurance: $206.00 Beach Entry Fee at NSB - non-Disney day: $10.00
And here is a more detailed food breakdown of the $1,499.58: Food in Airports: $49.01 Character Dining: $326.27 (includes Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast, Hollywood & Vine lunch - it does not include our $80.94 breakfast at Be Our Guest because they comped us for the food taking so long to come out) Quick Service Food: $349.51 Grocery Store: $272.05 (this also includes soap and a few other odds & ends we needed to stock the rental house) Offsite Dining: $222.33 (this includes Panera, take-out, and some other restaurants outside of Disney) Table Sevice: $280.41 (Teppan Edo in Epcot and San Angel Inn in Epcot)
All of this is pretty much right on par with what we budgeted. We could have saved money on food by bringing more of our own food into the parks or cutting down on some of the Disney dining. I will say more about our dining experiences in another post with some reviews of restaurants and vendors.
We will probably do 2 meals and one packed lunch/quick breakfast. I'll try that site. Thanks
I just checked our December statement (everything we charged to the room) and we averaged $30ish for at quick service places. Usually 2 adult meals and 1 kids meals that the 4 of us split (me, DH, 4 year old DD1 and 2 year old DD2). Prices have gone up like 10-15% since then according to some posts on various disney message boards.
