Updating again.
I finally got to be with him and I successfully pumped for him. Theyre still keeping him away from me but at least I got to hold him.
His sugars were better at last count. We are steadily going up. At 3am he was at 16 and now with fluids he's at a solid 69. They are going to attempt to wean him off of fluids slowly.
Still no response back on the bloodwork but they said it may be tomorrow before we have answers. My obgyn just sat with me and let me know I had an abruption on top of polyhydramniosis (why they induced). She probably told me that yesterday but my mind is still quite foggy. Basically just that the emergency c section was too rough on him and ultimately they think it's not some underlying infection that had been going on for some time if that makes sense.
Oh my goodness what a scary time for you all! I am so glad his sugars are coming up. I bet they will continue to improve. I know it can take 48 hours for cultures to come back, which just stinks for you, but hopefully this time tomorrow he's back in your room catching up on snuggles.
hungrycaterpillar, Just checking in. I hope your DS is continuing to improve!
Thank you for checking. Things declined. We got transferred to a hospital with a NICU. Still waiting on answers. Will update when I have something to actually share.
The good news is I have been able to pump and breastfeed a bit and they actually gave us a room to stay in because I am still very hurt myself but I'm making it.

Please continue to pray for our son.
I don't know if this helps you to know but my DD had some trouble keeping her blood sugars up when she was born and ended up in the NICU for a few days. They never figured out why and eventually she was able to keep them up and they sent us home and she hasn't had a problem since.
