I don't see the correlation. Her body is amazing though.
She's been getting trolled and fat shamed pretty hard. I wonder if that's why? It's depressing. I have the same basic body type and size as her minus her great boobs. It makes me sad to read the comments on her photos.

But how does that correlate to gun awareness. If she wants to post and be like screw you haters, that's cool. But half naked selfie= gun awareness isn't clicking for me.
She did a few sketches about gun violence on her 2nd or 3rd show this season. I think she said there was a shooting in a theater the night Trainwreck premiered, and ever since then she has been working with gun control organizations.
I don't know how I feel about this instagram. It's silly, but like Tambcat said it's designed to get a reaction, and keep the issue on people's minds.
She also posted at least half a dozen other #wearorange pictures...they aren't being talked about, so I'm guessing the picture did the job. It's the first wear orange to raise awareness deal, so this photo is getting people talking. Maybe next year 6/2 will be an orange day and we will see how many supporters and allies we have on the mission to have sensible gun laws.

She has to prove to everyone she's not "plus sized".
#overit
I don't follow her closely, but I thought she wanted to be plus sized? I guess she DIDN'T want to be plus sized. lol
She wants us to know she can go get dick whenever she wants and that not being a skinny-mini has ever prevented said dick from finding it's way to her poon. And she's damn fine and OK with being a "bigger" Hollywood star. Who wears a 6-8. But then Glamour put her in a plus-sized article or something and she freaked the fuck out and kept talking about the size 6-8. So no, she wants to rock her curvy body proud but she's not plus sized. She's a size 6-8. In case you missed it, she's a size 6-8.

As someone else pointed out, she actually did several wear orange pictures on Instagram. This is the only picture anyone is talking about.
The flaming bitchery towards her is sort of ridiculous. How very fucking dare this selfish bitch try to do anything good by showing off the body that is pretty much what she gets beat over the head with in every single article about her??? The nerve!

I don't mind this at all. And I'm surprised others do. As someone pointed out, Amy's been outspoken about gun violence especially since the shooting on opening night of Trainwreck in Louisiana.

This doesn't bother me. People show off their bodies for all sorts of innane reasons. What does this have to do with guns? Nothing. But it sure did get attention and here we are talking about it. Probably the point.

I posted without considering this but I agree that her picture definitely got people talking. So mission accomplished, I guess!
She has contorted herself every which way to look like that. She's side angle to the camera with her back arched on tiptoe reaching up with a camera above her. That's, like, every single selfie trick in one photo, and it's obvious. Any one would look great posed like that.
Which, BTW, I do not blame her one bit for. I know the tricks because I use the tricks. Thought not all at once usually.

She knew it would draw attention, good for her.
well she's also an unfunny racist, so there's that too. I couldn't care less about her body.

But the word about what? Wearing orange? Knowing about Everytown and/or the Brady Center?
I mean, we all know that guns are a big deal in America and that politicians haven't been able to do shit about it. I don't see what the purpose of the awareness is, I guess. It's not like pink = breast cancer = remember to do self-exams and schedule your annual checkup.
And Amy Schumer is a celebrity. Let's not act surprised that she happens to be an AW, and often cloaks such AW tendencies in "I'm doing it for a cause."
I think something like this allows lawmakers and the general public to see that there are a lot of sane people out there who support gun legislation. It's easy for quiet voices to get drowned out by the pro-gun/NRA groups.
Yes, everyone is talking about THIS PICTURE. Which is a part of the PROBLEM. They are talking this picture, body image, whether it makes sense, whether she is funny. NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT GUN VIOLENCE OR WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. So, no, she doesn't get a "good job" from me for people talking about her picture.

I disagree that she's bringing attention to an important issue. Quite the opposite. I think she's being opportunistic and using an issue to get us to talk about HER and how good her body looks.
I don't follow her closely enough to know if I'm being hard on her though.

you're not. She's a bit of a clown. People who get all pissed off defending her crack me up. I've never received a good reason as to why I need to support everything this woman does. Or why I can't criticize her without hating women or their bodies. She represents nothing that I stand for and most of what I find distasteful. I mean, I don't accuse those who appreciate her comedy of being racists, even though I personally believe that she is one.
