I also agree that naps and overnight have nothing to do with day training. We treated them as 2 separate events and told DS that it's hard to know when you have to pee while you're asleep, so you wear diapers during nap. He was fine with that approach, and his body learned to stay dry on its own.
That's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure if her holding it until she's in a diaper was a sign of NOT being ready! I guess if she's soaking a diaper, it's mostly while she's asleep.
I'm no expert (we're on day 4 of PTing over here), but I'd say if she was able to hold it with that level of accuracy, that might be a sign that she IS ready. DD has been doing really well so far. Her first accident since Saturday was last night while she was playing on her water table, so similar to C having one while she was playing on the playground (they're probably distracted/having too much fun to stop and go on the potty). DD's nap and bedtime diapers are always wet, too.
So I am doing all the potty training research (starting this month too!) and I just read to try cloth diapers for sleeping bc they don't hold the wetness as well so it's possible when she does poop and pee at nap and bedtime she won't like the feeling which could help the process along.
Our daycare realised that dd2 would hop up off the toilet as soon as she felt she had wee'd. So fast, the last trickle hadn't landed yet! They started getting her to sing a song to try to distract her so that she would finish the wee and not have an accident 5 minutes later because she hadn't emptied her bladder.
It seems to work. She's distracted so the wee just happens cos she isn't over-thinking it.
