1) I'm too selfish to have an etsy shop. Too many personal project in my queue!
2) Question Justinlove: if someone comes on and asks about a specific product they want on etsy, and someone has an etsy shop for that product, can they pimp it in the thread?

The mod discussion was a bit hazy here. The concensus was they don't want to have a bunch of posts to try to promote personal businesses. I think that if a shop link is in a signature then who could complain about another poster referring you to someone's shop (just not self promoting).
Oh, and there is no way I'd ever have time to have a shop either. I don't have time to sew what I want to make as it is!
The fun thing on a board that's run "by us" is that we can call it as we see it. "You" know you're being spammy if you're being spammy, and I don't think anyone here is too shy to make it known that "you" are coming across that way.
It would be wise to remember that this board is still wide open and I'm sure, frequently spidered by all the major search engines (and at least a few minor ones)- so, if you reference your business in your signature, expect anything and everything you "say" on these boards to be cached pretty instantly and forever associated with your business name.

This makes me happy.
I think if someone asks for a recommendation for something, a "Hey, I make that. It's in my shop, link in siggy" should be able to slide. Posting a new topic to promote yourself is a little too spammy for my tastes.

Random question. In deciding that its ok on here to have them, does that mean it will be received ok to have that in our siggy on other boards too? For example I post a lot on the Pets board as well...
