Mostly just depressing news, unfortunately.
Other than the national news of suck from last week, I lost a friend on Saturday (well, he was old, but even still....)
On a positive note, last week the concert for Twenty One Pilots was soooooo amazing. I mean, I was there with a bunch of teenage girls swooning over them, but it was a sold out show and I have never seen any group use the venue as much as they did. They even threw in some cover songs I didn't expect to hear (Celine Dion, for example). Definitely a must-see group if you like them!
Also, today is our 7th anniversary - we're going to go out for dinner (probably sushi) and I'm likely going to make the H watch our wedding video afterwards. It's the only time we ever watch it, but it's kind of nice to see it on our anniversary.

Not a whole lot. It is hot as Hades here recently, so I have been hiding out inside.
We leave next week for 5 days in Door County, WI to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary and I can't wait. The plan is tons of hiking, trying my hand at SUP, wine tasting, and hopefully enjoying cooler weather.

Happy anniversary! I make MH watch our video every year too.
Not a whole lot is going on over here. I'm pretty slammed this week at work and didn't think about it when I volunteered to teach a couple of extra yoga classes. I see a lot of sleep this coming weekend!

I have family in Door County; my mom is from Sturgeon Bay. I love it there. Have fun!
Work is super-duper busy as usual. But my parents are staying with us next week, so I took some time off to hang out with them. I'm taking them to see The Beach Boys on Monday night.
S is still traveling every week to CA, accumulating a shitload of miles and hotel points. We're trying to plan a few trips with it. We leave in 6 weeks on a New England / Canada cruise with his aunt/uncle. Can't wait. Going to the Notre Dame-Syracuse game the first weekend in October. And I'm attending a seminar in early November that happens to be in Orlando, so S and I are making a weekend out of it and going to the parks.

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one! We didn't even pay for our video, so it's a low budget home-movie type thing, but it's still fun to see especially since my grandma has passed on and she makes appearances in it.
On my FB post about my anniversary, my uncle made a comment: "We need to "make hay while the sun is shining." WTF does that mean? Is it a reference to making babies before my time is expired? No thanks, Uncle Crazypants.
My work BFF who lost one of her furbabies a few weeks ago had to put down their other furbaby this week because she had tumors filling her lungs. All within a month! I feel so bad for them! They're left with an empty nest now.
The 3.5 month long saga of trying to fire an employee is finally coming to an end today. (Note to other supervisors: two-way documentation is crucial, even at a state agency in an at-will state.) Then it's on to rehiring and training.
My update: We should know tomorrow whether or not H deploys. We're prepared either way but the anxiety of not knowing yet is killing me. This has been up in the air for months.
