ETA: Hi peeps! The majority vote is to keep the Recovery Board up and running, which is quite gratifying. HOWEVER, I think it would be a good idea for us to start posting again. This is an opportunity to help people who are struggling with personal addictions and/or those family and friends who love them.
There was a good suggestion of having a daily/weekly/monthly topic. Anyone want to start with a topic of their choosing?
It seems that lately there's hardly been any activity on this board. Is it time to shut it down? This is just my question--no one has approached me about deleting this board. It just seems so forlorn on here these days. Your thoughts?

I don't post on this board, but I like that it's here. I have a sister who is an addict and it's very helpful to read the posts about how to deal with a loved one who is struggling. I appreciate the great advice that's in here, and would like to see it stay.
I like that it's here, but I don't post much because a) I am shying away from having a bunch of personal stuff on the internet and b) I feel like the advice is always the same...get thee to AA or Al Anon. See a therapist. DH and I have our own personal opinions on AA and Al Anon, and unfortunately, other resources/programs/groups are much harder to come by.

Just wanted to check in. I'm glad the board is staying up. I don't post much over here anymore just because it's so slow, but would love if it could pick up a little again.
Maybe we can try to post a discussion topic once a month or something to get it moving so that new people will see that it is active in case they need support? I can put a reminder in my calendar if this is something you all think might work.
