I don't know that there would be a huge difference. I think schools all let out right around that time. For what it's worth, we were there the 15th-22nd and while it was crowded, we didn't wait long for anything. I'd try to shoot for the earliest dates possible with the hopes of minimizing crowds and heat.
Lots of school in the NE don't get out until the 2nd or 3rd week in June.
I'd go as early as possible in June.
Yep...DH and I are from NJ and our families are still there, and none of the kids get out until mid to late June. I live in VA now and it's the same here. While lots of kids will already be out, I'd think that the earlier in June you go, the lower the crowds may be since in some places school will still be in session. It's why my family tends to vacation during the last two weeks of August...still some crowds, but much lower b/c many school systems have already gone back.
Our last trip was the 1st week in June. Crowds were very tolerable. I would go as early in June as you can. I like the calendars on yourfirstvisit site. We are constrained by our school calendar so I am always looking for a not crazy crowded time that works with our schedule.

I think earlier is better in June because a lot of schools finish around then. The earlier you go, the more likely kids are in school and the parks will be less crowded.
I think the first week of June is still slightly cheaper than the rest. Crowds should be better too.
We have gone twice in June and it's relatively crowded but not undoable. The humidity really got to us this last trip though (but it was last week of June into early July).
