I never took the driving test (still do not have a Driver's License).
My first driving experience was in a 1978 Ford Crown Vic LTD former cop car that had already been through four girls learning to drive, and had hit 3 deer and survived basically unscathed (the deer did not). It was a tank.

I have no idea. I know it was a stick shift and was old and a pain in the ass to drive. I failed the first time because of that stupid car (anyone who drove it experienced the 'shuddering' that occurred but the guy thought it was my stick shift skills - my parents got it fixed after that). My parents still apologise for not renting or finding an automatic for me to test in (my brother did so 3 years later).

I can't remember. It was either the car my mom handed down to me which was a 1979 Ford Thunderbird, or maybe she let me take her new car which was a 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Either way, both boats, LOL.
My dad bought it before I turned 16, but I had to learn to drive stick (standard transmission) prior to being allowed to drive the car.
I remember it was rear wheel drive, because there was an ice storm the morning I was to take my driver's test and my dad took me to take the test anyway. He said "if you can't drive on ice, you shouldn't have a license." Thankfully, I passed.
1986 VW Golf. It was a 5 speed. I would have taken it in the car my parents had for me ('81 VW Rabbit 4 speed) but someone stole the front license plate and I didn't want to get a ticket and fail my test.

1973 or 74 Dodge Duster. I had never driven it until the day of my road test, and crammed in an hour of test-driving it the day of. The rear window was at a weird 45 degree angle, which gave a very limited view when backing up. I wound up failing parallel parking due to that. Thankfully, at the time, you were allowed to fail ONE thing and still get your license.

No idea, it was my dad's car. When I got my license (in '97), I was only allowed to drive my mom's 1971 Chevy Beauville van (orangish tan and white), until I got my own.

'79 Rabbit. This was taken in '88 or '89, I was 16. Check out that hair! Also, please note my oh-so-fashionable acid washed denim skirt and TWO t-shirts with rolled sleeves and knotted at my waist. And to think I used cry about being so fat at 140#.
1986 Chevy Cavalier - my dad's car. And I got turned away at the DMV because a brake light was out. Had to go back another weekend after it was fixed. Thanks, Dad!

The first time I took it, I used my dads 1975 Cadillac. I flunked because I didn't get the parallel parking right. After the test, dad and i drove back around to where the parallel parking part was- and he lined up the car next to the cones, and found out the car was longer than the space they had marked off! I went back and took the test in a smaller Mercury Comet, and passed with flying colors.
Holy CRAP how do you all even remember this? Filed under insignificant trivia.
That made me laugh!
For the record I have only had 5 cars in my entire life and have been driving for over 30 years. Also have a knack for remembering insignificant trivia. Don't ask me what I did yesterday, I won't recall.

I have no idea, it belonged to the dealer who donated cars for drivers training. My first car, however, was a blue 1981 AMC Concord Wagon, with the wood grain! I had a lot of good times with that car!
