Lena is the worst. She is too much like her character IRL. Poor posture, probably doesn't care to wipe down the public toilet seat before plopping down, limp ass hair. So, she's wearing a tuxedo. If she carried the confidence of Janelle Monae while doing it, I'm sure she'd have a better chance. But her default is to fall back on her mediocrity.

She's making a shit ton of assumptions about what he thinks about her. There are too many white people constantly trying to speak for black people in the worst way.

This is what got me too. Like the only thoughts in his head could be whether or not she was fuckable. As if a black man can't be near a white woman without thinking about sex. I've never seen her show and likely never will. I'm on team fuck her just from the things posted here.

When "Girls" first started, I liked and enjoyed the show. But much like "Friends," "Seinfeld," "Sex and the City," and others, it began to grate on me that these fools were living in NYC and consistently not encountering a single black person. Then, when the show received criticism for that, enter Donald Glover, who always felt like the prop he probably wanted to be. After that, I began getting more turned off, but I was still watching, because I do think the show is funny. But then, the characters grew more annoying and I started realizing that part of the reason that we didn't see black people is because they actually do not SEE black people. So then I wondered why I was watching a show to see what oblivious, self-involved white women do and think, when that's something I don't even care about in real life. So, I cut it. In other words, this story, in which the main character is self-involved and views this black man as a prop, is literally the show. So, I'm cool on this story, just like I'm cool on that show.

I have nothing to say about her looks or whatever else, because I don't really talk about how people look and her appearance is her business, but I really don't think--based on the women who I have seen who OBJ has been involved with--that he was even briefly considering sex with her. I also don't think he's entirely hetero anyway, but that's not really the point. I do think women tend to have an intuition about these things, but I also think Lena Dunham might be so self-involved and her ideas about black people so antiquated, that I wouldn't be surprised if this was a total misread. If I was him, I'd be pissed off. Don't use me and a sidelong glance I may have given to prop up your insecurities and faux acceptance of those insecurities.

One season of Girls is all I could make it through. Even that was a struggle considering I disliked her character from the first episode. Much like everyone else, I do not get the hype surrounding her and Amy Schumer, and cannot wait until they both fade away from the spotlight.

Regarding this exchange I'm bothered that she is assumed OBJ was thinking about sex with her, and if he was and decided against it, it's because the various assumptions she made up.
