I do! I've been doing it since spring. I have a section dedicated to tracking my body goals. I just added a monthly spread for my september workouts. I likely won't do it again, though, because it doesn't feel right. Probably do a weekly one instead. I also add an exercise bullet on my daily to do.
I used to track sleep, caffeine, and water consumption, but I didn't do anything with the info and it didn't necessarily help with being aware of those things either.
I am! I do a weekly tracker of whether I worked out as well as things like whether I successfully avoided sugar and if I cooked lunch/dinner. I also have a daily bullet for my specific runs, and right now I have a weight loss page.
1) I have my standard weight lifting workouts written down on a 'collections' page, and on the bottom I note the weights I use. I plan to use the same workouts for 6-8 weeks then change things up. They're currently broken up by body area (legs, Chest/shoulders/triceps, back/biceps) but the next ones might not be.
2) I write the workouts I plan to do on post-it tabs (the plasticy kind), especially if they're things I do over and over like 'kicboxing' or 'leg day' or 'bike ride'. Yours might be 'long bike ride' and 'crit practice' etc etc. Whatever you cray cyclists do Then I put those workouts on the calendar day I plan to do them. This way I am not writing/crossing out a lot, or re-writing the same damn things over and over. Obvi a specialized workout I'll just write down.
3) I have a page with some of my cycling routes and their approximated distances so I can see what's the best route if I want to cover 40 miles (lol, 40 miles, someday...)
4) I have a weight tracking page, and a goal tracking page.
do you use it to plan out your workouts and races/goals for the year or just to keep track of what you're doing on that day?

Yes. I plan and I track execution. It may help to post some pics? I will try to do that in the next couple of days.
I have made it a point to keep my life in one journal, with the exception of work. I have my work notebook because of confidentiality of work projects. Otherwise the reason I started a journal was because I felt scattered.
I track everything in training peaks but don't track H&F stuff independently in my journal. I just list whatever I did that day, and then I have a separate page for races and results.
Aw, shit....I think I need to try this. It seems kinda of perfect. I make lists and shit all over the place, but they end up so scattered. If I could have them all in one place that would be so nice. Worth a try...
I don't boju, but I've kept a written training journal for almost 20 years and still do daily. I do it in Word, so that they can be easily searched. I refer back to them regularly. I use it conjunction with Garmin Connect & Strava.

I've been thinking about starting a bullet journal (and actually started one last night but the pages of the notebook I had are too thin to write on two sides) but I think I might need more structure.

I've been using a three ring binder and graph paper for years now for a training journal because I couldn't find anything I liked training wise, which is why bujo is appealing.

Go for a really simple approach at first, you'll find it useful enough that you won't care what it looks like. I can also give you a few tips on how to cheat your way into a visually appealing journal!

-I use a 6" ruler that tucks nicely into the back pocket of the journal for drawing lines on calendars and things like that. It's perfect because it covers most of the page but it's small.
-Washi tape is decorative masking tape, I use it to either cover up mistakes, or to simply add some color to a page:
-Colorful pens, but use them for titles and highlighting things, and use a regular pen for most of your day-to-day writing. It lowers the 'entry point' of energy needed to just write things down.
-There's a pen loop that Amazon carries that you can add to your bullet journal, keep your favorite day-to-day writing pen in here. Leave the rest at home.
-STICKERS! I have motivational ones, workout ones and just general planning ones. I use them to highlight appointments, workouts, or just to add something to a page.
-I spend more time making my 'spreads' (monthly calendars, etc) than anything else, because I can make this visual and fun. On a daily basis, I usually write the date in a colorful pen, underline it with my ruler, then grab my regular pen. This way my 'effort' is concentrated on the 'spreads' and not the day-to-day tasks. Plus you can always throw a sticker on a page.
I have tried to keep mine focused on things I will use it for and the longer I've done it, the simpler it's become. I use it as the place to 'jot down' all those things I keep in my brain or as sticky notes or as lists in my phone. I could never get a planner to work for me, but this system has worked very well. Probably because I can customize exactly for my purpose. I wanted a place to write things down because I remember them better, and also somewhere I could be creative and more present.
I have several 'collections' which are bigger planning things. They are in the front of my journal, but I wish I had done them in the back because I have new collections I want to add but it bugs me not to have them in the same place. Collections I have include: Savings looks something like this but with little dollar bills instead of lines. Although cute, is a pain to use so I won't be doing it again:
