My iPhone 5 screen died this morning, much to my dismay. The lock button has been dead for some months now, but now my phone is completely useless.
There may be an upgrade available on the family plan (we're on FIL's family plan), but maybe not. If there is, should I get the SE or wait for the 7? I'm really tempted to wait for the 7, but I don't like large phones, and like the size of my 5 - I just wish it had more of the 6s features (touch ID, etc).

I LOVE Apple...when DD's 5c phone shattered (she dropped it on the cement with no case) we got her the SE. It's nice, but I have the 6S+ and her phone doesn't have many more features than my phone. I'd definitely hold out for the 7 (or at least wait and see what is added to it, apparently it's announced tomorrow and then decide from there).
We all have Apple phones (plus computers, iPads, etc.) in our house, it's almost depressing
I got to make this decision yesterday, as the charging port on my 5s crapped out. I got the SE. I also don't like larger phones and this one is like a carbon copy of my 5s except screaming fast.

Wait, I change my vote...I just read this article and I'd wait for the 7. Sounds like some pretty good upgrades are being done and whenever there's a good upgrade to the camera I'm all over it.
From what I've heard so far about the 7, I'd get a new phone now. But then, I don't like larger phones and when my 5 craps out, I'm going to be sad because the 6s are too large for me. Plus, I really don't like the reported fact that the 7 won't have a headphone jack separate from the one port for charging. I often charge my phone AND listen to something at the same time. (And I hate the iPhone earbuds, they are too large for me and hurt. I like being able to use whatever I like best.)
@ksta , the SE is almost exact same size as the iPhone 5. And, you can get wireless headphones and use Bluetooth + charge
Size is good news but still MEH on having to buy different headphone nonsense. Especially since Bluetooth sucks battery life. I'm a ways out from needing a new phone though. My technically is fine as long as you don't try to use stupid SIRI but I have MIL's 5 as a backup now and hers was barely a year old.

So, update - I got an SE, and I freaking LOVE it. It's so FAST and all the buttons work (I'm easy, haha), and I got a shiny new case and everything.
I am happy I didn't get a big 6s or anything. DH has the 6s and I don't like it, so that's why I got the SE. Best decision. I also didn't like the changes with the 7, and the price was just right on the SE, plus 64gb of memory! Whee!
