Gotta be. Because if I have to explain one more time that "bad schools" is code for schools with large minority populations and that the Great Schools Guide online is only going to rank white schools higher than schools with black kids, and that inner city schools don't mean your kid is going to get shot and they have drug problems in white schools too, I'm going to scream.
This makes me tired. Extremely tired.
OP, do yourself a favor and go check out the school rather than make blind assumptions.

I'm just wondering if you'd mind re-reading your OP and consider how a POC would take it. You can add asterisked disclaimers all day long about how your family members are racist, but your post comes off as very tone-deaf to the fact that there are several regular posters on this board who are not white. How exactly would you feel if someone breezed on in and made such remarks about your school being "worse" because it is diverse (doesn't have a majority of white students)?

I work at a 99% black, 88%-free/reduced lunch school. We are the highest-performing non-magnet school in my city. We have a waiting list of over 1000 families. Our Class of 2016, 67 kids, earned over $6 MILLION in scholarships last year. 90% of our students go to college; 80% go to four-year institutions.

Guess what our GreatSchools rating is?
3.
Fuck that website for real.
All because too many little black kids are there. Sigh.

Yep. I've tried to figure it out every which way. It may be because our 2013 state assessments were low, but so were everyone else's, since that was the pilot year for the Common Core test. There is literally no authentic metric by which we could be measured that would warrant a 3.
Oh, except my kids are all black, and many are below the poverty line. I guess that's it.
Well isn't this surprising? A racist makes a racist post, then never comes back to address it!
She wants a Whole Foods and a smattering of brown people! The right kinds, though. Maybe some Asians, an interracial couple here or there. Some blacks are ok, especially the ones that work at Whole Foods or maybe lunch ladies in the cafeteria. Not men though, too scary. ohiopollworker
2. Diversity is important to me, but typically comes with "worse" schools, so H and I battle on this one. Some of the suburbs like University Heights are about 50/50 white/black which sounds awesome, but their schools seem mediocre, which will be a huge sticking point.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

You lost me here.
No need to be lost, but I'll come get you. Any school with 50% black student population is mediocre and not good enough for her precious snowflake. So, while diversity is important, it should probably be limited to 1 minority student per class.
I don't know why everyone is being so mean. Hey, OP, have you checked out the parents board? Look to the list on your left. It's called MM Moms. You can probably get great advice there. Good luck!

That was tongue-in-cheek. That's basically what OP was saying. White people, but with juuuuust enough non-white people to be, you know, diverse, plus Whole Foods.
ETA: I was trying to mock OP. Like many of my jokes, it was probably funnier in my head. I hope I didn't fuck up, but if I did, I'm sorry.

Wait 'till she finds out that it's actually more like 75% Black. Offering classes like African American Drama and Poetry, African American History, Gospel Choir, etc. apparently just add to the mediocrity.

Oh I know it was and loved every second!
OK good. I was like, I promise I know "cool white people" is not a thing.

People will never learn. I happen to work in a awesome school that gets a 5 on great schools. You know why? We are diverse, and have 54% free or reduced lunch. And we are in an area that is "going downhill." Do we struggle with test scores sometimes? Sure, but we work hard to help students who are falling behind. We have great teachers, great programs and we are small enough that we all know, and care about kids that we have never taught. That is what makes a school great. You would never know that if you looked at our grade on great schools. You couldn't because small minded, racist douchebags grade us without knowing us.

I meant I stopped reading her shitty post at that point
