The awesomeness: FOOD. Specifically bagels and pizza.
I was also able to visit my old coworkers yesterday and it was great to see them (and then leave! LOL). The stress level in that place was just so high. Every single person that I saw told me how great and relaxed I look. Truth be told, I feel a major difference in myself since I left there and NY in general. NYC has always been my home and it will always have a place in my heart--there's nowhere else like it. It was just time for me to make a change.
Staying at my childhood home (mom's house) is a little stressful. Parking issues, neighbor issues etc. My mother hasn't been here since last winter. She plans to sell and needs to just do it. She's avoiding the situation and neglecting some things and it's just upsetting. I'm willing to help, but I live far now too and I can only do so much. She is perfectly capable of dealing with it. It will be bittersweet when she does sell and then NY will be "empty" for me--no place to return "home" to. But NYC will aways be here for us to visit.
