This week I get to work with the cute PT. I'm actually wearing makeup to PT because 'I have a really important meeting at work later today'...hahaha no I don't!

But when the OP says "the n word" my mind immediately translates what that word is inside my brain. If someone refers to "n*****" without the astrick my mind skips the translation. So either way, word is in my head. If she was discussing the fact that she was upset the word is used, how is that racist?
Got a call Thursday night that my landlord has sold my house I am renting. I have to be out by this time next month. UGH, for DD2 I really want a house. She has anger problem sometimes and will scream and cry, so not so apartment friendly. She also has boundary issues and does not see anything bad in people and will talk to anyone. The only one I have found so far was rented out before they called me back the same day the sign was put up.

I *finally* had date #2 with J on Saturday. We went to the Melting Pot. I had never been there before and am not that crazy about fondue but had been wanting to go. So when he suggested it, I was excited to go. We each got the 4 course. I wasn't crazy about the cheese fondue, but I really liked the main course. I don't remember what mine was called but I had filet (delicious), shrimp (delicious), and chicken (meh). After we were done there, we walked over to Cheesecake Factory so I could get some carrot cake to take home. He walked me to my car (we were in different parking ramps). We discussed date #3 for this weekend, but now we *both* need sitters. I have my sitter and he's in the process of getting one too.
Anyway, things are going well there. I do wish we could see each other more but hopefully that'll come in time. But I'm really enjoying the time we have been able to spend together.
PDQ I got a phone call today from the person that took my old position. My old director actually gave this person my number --when i hung up with her there was a text sitting there from him saying that my "replacement" had some questions that he was unable to answer. Um, you're the fucking director of people with my title in that hospital!!!
She started exactly one week ago and is already having difficulty understanding her role because everyone is pulling her in different directions. Not a surprise--I was there for 10 years and over the last 5 it got increasingly horrible. I don't know what they expect me to tell her. I gave her some basic ideas of responsibility, but I was working and unable to talk for long. She thanked me and asked if she could call me again and I agreed. Honestly, I don't know what is appropriate here. I'd run screaming (and be thankful) if someone was honest with me about the horribleness that goes on there. However, I'm no longer employed there and have no responsibility. I actually texted my old direct supervisor (a physician) whom I have a great relationship with to tell him this scenario. He basically said that he's sure she won't last once she sees the reality.

Any input here?
Honestly I would not get involved without payment. I would send an email to your director and says "Replacement has asked for my assistance in transitioning her to her position upon your suggestion. I'd be happy to provide consulting services at a rate of X dollars per hour. Please let me know how you'd like to proceed." It is no longer YOUR JOB. Do not let her take advantage of you by doing her job for her for FREE. NO!

Yeah, in a normal business scenario I could see that. Because this is a (shitty large) hospital situation (that gives zero fucks about their employees), I would never get any credit, thank you or compensation. Buy you're absolutely right that it's no longer my job and I'm not required to do shit for them.

Oh of course they won't actually give you compensation. But that's not the point, it makes it clear that you won't work for free. I bet you send that email and will never hear a peep from anyone again.

You're probably right! Ugh, people are so weird. ETA: I don't blame the new girl, it's not her fault. She has no guidance and it sucks, but it's the employer's issue.

Ehhh people (your former employer, not the employee) will take advantage of you if you let them. I'm just a huge advocate of people demanding that they get compensations for efforts that help others make money;)
