She had a lot of gossip about her fellow "participants". She got a temporary AA sponsor and hopefully will start working the steps or whatever she needs to fine-tune her coping skills. She plans on staying through Thanksgiving. This makes me very happy because she really needs some good structure in her life over and above 30-60 days.
It was good to see her. I'm cautiously optimistic. (rose)

Hi! Thank you so much for asking. She seems to be doing okay. She told me she has a sponsor and has been doing step work. She will be getting out on January 3rd.
I'm hoping that this all "takes" for her. She's led many years of lying and putting on a false front--those are hard habits to break. She wants to get her DD back, so I'm not sure if she's "doing the deal" with treatment just to get her daughter back (and not to live a sober life), but I remain optimistic. : )

Thank you again for asking--you're very kind.
I hope for your niece's sake that her mom TEALLY wants to lead a sober life and isn't going through the motions JUST to get her dd back. My xh did rehab for meth so 'he could get his family back' not bc he wanted to be clean & sober. When he finished rehab and did NOT get his family back the way he wanted (he thought I'd forgive & forget and welcome him back as if NOTHING had happened ??) he relapsed and he's been gone ever since :/
Oh flex, I hope this is for good for her, and for your niece.
Yes, and I hope it is the same for her other daughter and son who want nothing to do with her. They're 19 and 18. My sister has a long road back but I remain hopeful.

I'm sorry, flex I know it was painful for my husband to watch me go through multiple relapses and trips to rehabs/detox. I hope this time she wants it for herself.
