Do you think that babies should be allowed to be taken into the liquor store? I ask this question because MH got kicked out the liquor store today. He walked in with V in the Beco and the cashier said, "Sir, you can't have a baby in here." He thought it was funny. When he told me, I was annoyed. Then I thought about what a stupid policy that was. You know that there are going to be people who leave their baby in the car because of that policy. Do you think that there is any logical reason not to allow babies in the liquor store? (I'm defining baby by a child who cannot walk yet.)
First of all, I hope this doesn't mean you didn't get liquor.
What's the baby going to do? Steal the vodka? I also think it is silly when casinos don't allow babies on the floor. Because they are going to try and play the slots underage?
I take A to the liquor store all the time (wow, that makes me sounds like a klassy, klassy bitch).
That's weird, I'm in nj and I've never seen a liqueur store with a bar! That doesn't even make sense, how does the bar do the up charge for drinks if you can just buy the bottle?

I can't believe they don't sell alcohol at the grocery where you live. I think that he was just going to get more beer. We only have 1 or 2 in the fridge, but I have Belvedere in the freezer.

I'm from NJ too, and I haven't seen liquor stores with bars in them either. In most of the bars around here you can get packaged goods to go, though. Wine and beer, but not hard liquor. As far as I know it's ok to bring your baby into the liquor stores by me.

It's weird. You can't drink what you buy from the shelves. You can either come in and sit down and order a drink or come in and buy some stuff and leave. I always make my husband take me when we visit the inlaws because it's such a novelty.

I'm in central Jersey. I live down the street from one that is a bar/liquor store and a liquor store only. I also live near a Wegmans that sells booze
The idea of not being able to buy booze in the grocery is so very bizarre to me. That being said, not having your baby in the liquor store is absurd. Isn't as though you are going to immediately crack open your gin and juice and pour it into a sippy and hand it to your baby.

I don't see why not. I don't take my 3 year old in the liquor store (which is located inside of a Giant Eagle) because with all of those glass bottles it is the equivalent of a bull in a china shop, but I don't see the issue with taking a little baby in there. If I shopped at Giant Eagle on a regular basis, I would just buy my liquor when grocery shopping.

We are in NJ, too. I've never seen a bar/store here, but I have seen them in NYC. You actually can't but booze at the bar, only food. You have to buy your wine in the store and bring it into the bar and they'll cork it for you. I rolled Li through the Bottle King a few weeks ago, no one said a word, they offered to bring my wine out to my car for me.
No But I described it to my husband and he's excited. We may go to the ABC store tomorrow as our family outing (if husband doesn't run out tonight).
So tonight I went to have some vodka and cranberry juice. Well, we were out of vodka so I put some gin in (had already poured the cranberry before I knew of our outage). I almost barfed it was so disgusting. My husband might run out to the ABC after he puts Hunter to bed, we'll see.

ABC is a furniture and home store in NYC, I keep getting very confused when I see you post about it.

LOL, NC has state run liquor stores. Here's a visual for future reference

This made me LOL.
We lived in NC before here and I thought it was weird that they didn't sell wine in the liquor store.
That's so bizarre. What is the reasoning? We can only buy wine and liquor at the liquor stores (beer is sold at the grocery store but that's it). If I couldn't bring my child in, I'd probably never get to buy wine.

I don't know what their reasoning was. I'm actually tempted to contact the company. They have a monopoly here in town (there are 8 Big Red liquors and I live in a town of only ~70,000 people). It just concerns me after reading about hyperthermia. I don't want people leaving their children in the car for some stupid store policy.

Yeah, it'd definitely be interesting to hear what they say, and what their response is if you mention people leaving their kids in the car.
