my H is in IT and apparently his former company selected the same CMS vendor the Nest was switching to around the same time - and that company has ditched the vendor now cause they suck
I think what bothers me is the fact that they have waited to late. They should have listened to the local boards, and I *love* how the can announce the change with an exact time yet we were all caught by surprise when they decided to screw us in the butt.
other reason I never want to leave: ability to hover over subjects to see what is inside. When I post on TB now I try to do this and am always frustrated. I have so quickly been spoiled.
:Y:
I'm ashamed to admit that I have done this on random other websites (like cnn.com and my work intranet page) and have been irrationally annoyed when it didn't work.
Can you even imagine how much money this whole debacle has cost the company? And ultimately, I feel like the only reason they are making any changes is because this situation, is in fact, costing them money.
Ultimately, I will stay here. If everyone defects back, I will most likely retire (not that I expect anyone to care about this). I just like the set up here. The app is amazing, the layout kind of looks like legitimate work on my computer and I looooove the sub boards and the peace it has brought to the MM world. No one has to get pissy over too much make-up or baby talk.

We would all be stupid to go back.
Exactly. Thy are not switching back to make us happy and because they listened to our emails. They are switching back because thy lost a shit ton of money and need us back there.
Yeah it's not like we were buying anything. But I don't know how many people who visit The Nest for its articles and crap so maybe the ad revenue will suffer.
Absolutely. That hits per day graph is what they use to convince advertisers to pay to place ads on their site. They essentially sell access to us, the advertisers target market.
That graph would be a big deterrent to a company considering buying ad space.

This! I have noticed myself doing this on other websites and getting annoyed when I don't get a preview. I also love having a working search function.
