This is the picture before we bought the house so don't judge landscaping or lack there of.
Built in 1920-Montgomory Ward style
2500 sq feet 4 bedroom 2 bath 2 1/2 car garage. Beautiful wood floors and finishes. In a very charming neighborhood, which was the biggest selling point for us.

Can you tell I am super proud of this house lol.
It's adorable! And it doesn't look even close to that big from the pic, which I think is neat.
Ours is 2100 sq feet. 4 bedroom, 2 bath. Typical split level house. Its far too big for the two of us now, but it's going to give us room to grow, which is exactly what we wanted.
Also one more little brag. This is a picture of the hardwood floors and features that made me fall in love with the house. taken from the dining room into the living room with the sunroom doors open. swoon

I know that is why I love it. It goes really deep and 500 of the sq footage is finished basement space with another 500 of unfinished so really it is 3000 sq feet.
2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. 950 sq ft. Very small kitchen but it suits us well. No photo though, it looks like any other apartment complex apartment. I do have a screened in patio with a porch and a laundry room. Most apartments here don't come with that. They did a great job on the layout of my current apartment.
Ours is 3200 sq ft including the utility room/workshop and garage that take up about half of the lower level, split level with 3 bedrooms and an office on the main level and 1 bedroom on the lower level, 3/4 master bath and full bath on the main level, and a half bath on the lower level.
It's bigger than we really needed (basically an extra bedroom), but it was in the right location at the right price.
Zillow tells me it's about 3300 sq. feet. 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms upstairs, bonus room and bathroom over the garage, bathroom and office/ playroom/ home theater-ish space in basement.
Eddy, we have french doors too, and I love it. It sucks having to clean them, though. (And for that reason, I've only done it like 2x in 4 years. oops)
I am making a list of what I want our new cleaning lady to do and the french doors are on the list. Love them just don't want to clean them!
Ours is 2,400 sq. ft., 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, on 1/2 acre, with a creek.
*poof*
It needs shutters, I know. We are literally the only house in the neighborhood without them. We also plan to build a master suite above the garage. Someday.
I am jealous of anyone with acreage! I'd love even just a full acre.
dean, I've been wanting to see a picture! I can't wait to hear and/or see when it's all finished.

About 1700 sq. ft., including the finished basement. 3br/2ba, standard Chicago lot (i.e., small back yard).
10 minutes from the city and 1/2 mile from Edison Park, which has shops/restaurants/etc. We're also 1/2 mile from the el and the Metra (commuter train).
Here is a pic (it was built in the 1920s, so it has a lot of "character"):

I'm currently renting 700 sq feet, 2 bedrooms right now. Super small, but I like it. It allows me to be ruthless with tossing clutter and organizing. I also was raised in 900 sq feet with 3 other people, and I'm pretty comfortable with a smaller home. I would hate to clean anything over 1500 sq feet.

Thanks Tamb! Your house is so cute - I love the brick.
Eddy - that wood work is amazing. We have crown molding and base boards throughout the house that used to be this amazing dark cherry, but the asshats before us painted them all white, along with all of the solid wood doors. GAH. We only know how beautiful the woodwork used to be because they didn't paint the inside of the hall closet door. I hate those people.
LHC, it was built in the 60s so older but not OLD old. The previous owners put a lot of work into it so the kitchen and bathrooms are all updated, which was key for us since we are so not fixer-uppers.
It's 1700 sq ft on 25 acres. Totally 70's and cedar sided, but I love it. We've since ripped out and replaced all the landscaping. It's getting painted and new gutters in the spring. The worst part is our electric meter is placed on the front of the freaking house and it's going to cost $2500 to have it moved

Small. 1400 sq. ft. 3 br 2 bath. It's actually the largest house we've lived in. We're accustomed to small spaces! The older two girls share a room and Bonnie has her own.
