When did your kid lose their first tooth?

My son lost his first at 5. He's almost 7 now and has lost 7 teeth.

DS1 was just under 6. DS2 is nearly 7 and still hasn't lost one! I also hate it. It makes my knees wobble.

My kid was almost seven. He didn't get his first tooth until 11.5 months, though, so he is always a little behind in the tooth department.

Vi lost hers about 2 months ago, she turned 6 in June. The second followed a week later, both bottoms.

She lost her first like 3 weeks ago. She was 5 in February. She has another hanging on by a thread and two others wiggling a little.

DS1 is 6.5 and still doesn't have a loose tooth. He is the last in his class. And he is soooo jealous of everyone else!

This was how my son was, too.  His first tooth wasn't even really ready to come out.  It was a little loose and then he forced it out accidentally while trying to open a lego bag.  Ha.  He was 6 years, 8 months.

Carter is almost 7 1/2 and hasn't lost any. His mouth is starting to make space so I am sure it will be soon. I agree with you. I get all squimish when I see teeth hanging on by a thread.

My younger son ran into a door recently and I was worried he had lost a tooth. DS1 was all "he had better not have lost a tooth before me!" I think he briefly considered running into a door himself! Fortunately, they both still have all their teeth at the moment :-)

DD1 lost her first tooth when she was 4.  She was the only kid in her preschool class to have lost one.

She's now 5 and in Kindergarten and has lost 4 (all the bottom front ones), and is *this* close to losing her 2 front top teeth. Actually right now she has 3 front teeth because her adult tooth came in in front of the 2 baby teeth before they fell out. The dentist will probably pull them in a few weeks...

My girls are 5 1/2 and two of them, according to their dentist, have the start of a loose tooth. She said it would be about 6 months before it comes out. I tried to see if I could tell it was loose but I couldn't. My other one does not have a loose tooth.

I am not looking forward to this.

My little sister lost her first tooth naturally before me. She continued to lose them earlier than me.  I had to have two teeth pulled because they would just not fall out on their own and adult teeth were coming in behind them.

I was just shy of 8 before one fell out on its own and FIFTEEN when I lost my last one. Apparently, they really wanted to stay in.

It's so amazing that she has her front top teeth actually. She injured them twice when she was < 3.

D was 5 and a half. And then they fell out pretty fast - by his 7th bday the top 4 & bottom 4 front teeth are adult ones. Kid has a lot of holes in his mouth, constantly. He has friends who haven't lost any yet, though!

He got his first tooth at 7 mos, so not really early.

Right around 6. E is closing in on 6 and has 2 that are just barely loose, but had kids in her pre-k class lose them when they were just shy of 5.

I think our dentist said it correlates with when they first cut their teeth. The first tooth goes between age 5 and 6. If your kid cut teeth on the early side, they go closer to 5. Later goes closer to age 6. This holds for both my kids so far. N cut hers at 10 months, and lost hers just before she turned 6. E didn't cut her first tooth until she was about 11 months, and turns 6 next month, with none out yet.

DS started losing his teeth right after he turned 5. He got his first teeth at 4 months, so it was to be expected. Girls tend to lose their teeth a bit earlier than boys do.

I hear ya on the squeamishness though. They're loose for what seems like forever and any time they wiggle them I cringe and have to look away it completely freaks me out.
And thinking of them eating with like three loose teeth also gives me the wicked willies.

5 1/2. He lost his first two within a week of each other. Then, it was another 6 months before he lost another 2 within a week of each other. He lost those two in June, and one of the adult teeth is only partially through, and the other adult tooth is nowhere to be seen. This teeth thing is really confusing.
