I saw the long post on CEP regarding Penzys spices (I think that's the right name) and how they made a post that was anti Trump/discrimination. So people were going crazy buying it up to "support" anti discrimination.
Also, I see something similar is happening with Kellogg's cereal on CEP, they're all talking about buying a lot of cereal because they pulled their ads from Breitbart.
Why not actually support minority and/or women's businesses instead? I mean all companies should be anti discrimination duh, so why go out of your way to support something that should be the norm.
LOL, this is less of a complaint and more of a confession. I read an article about how Ch0bani yogurt is getting boycotted by bigots because they hire a lot of refugees, specifically Muslim refugees. I decided I wanted to support them by switching my daily yogurt from Dannon to them. I wrote them a little email of support and then bought like two weeks of their yogurt. Except I reeeeally don't like it. I was determined to tough it out, but after a week I threw the rest out and switched back to Dannon Oikos. Sorry Ch0bani! On the bright side, I read an article about the boycott that said it was unlikely to really affect their bottom line given the lack of enthusiasm for Greek yogurt in Trump's America, so I felt a little less guilty.
I feel differently when it comes to P. spices. I looked them up, and they emphatically stated their F you to the BS that was going on. They doubled down on it, and for me that warranted my support. All companies should be anti-discrimination but some don't have the balls pussy to actually state those beliefs. So good for them, and until it's the norm I'm in for supporting these companies. As far as the support of minority and other disenfranchised groups, then I'm for it as well.
Right now, I'm not sure how I feel about CEP. Some of the people seem so genuine and then others...
I think I finally realized the issue I have been having with CEP, Clinton, and the whole sexism thing. Yes, I know sexism played a part in her loss. But to act like it is the only issue. No it seems like it is a white men issue. 80% of black men voted for Clinton. Now is that to say there isn't sexism in the black community? No. But it didn't stop most of them from voting for her.
So yet again it is attributing the feelings and thoughts of white people to all people. This is a white man issue with white women. This is not the universal issue with Clinton. And these are the thoughts coming from people who are so "enlightened." If they can't get it, who will?
