I read this article yesterday and wondered if there was a greater motivation to vouchers than just using public money to fund religious schools. There is a big push for vouchers in our state but so far it hasn't gotten through. My conspiracy theory is the state is deliberately making it difficulty for public schools to succeed in order to gain more support for vouchers.
We have a lot of failing rural schools and vouchers won't help those communities because there aren't many private options in those areas. Although I guess new religious schools could be built if there was suddenly funding.
