My goal is to get pregnant again (like, now) and stay pregnant, and have an active and healthy pregnancy leading to a full term healthy baby. I'll likely defer the Chicago marathon, but hope to run a few races and keep up with my classes at the gym. Would be fun to go back to CInci for Flying Pig half in May.

H & F goals:
-Eat breakfast. I am the worst at this. -Be better at meal planning/prep. -Whole 30 shortly after the new year (it'll only be whole 30 "ish" because I'm a vegetarian, but something to cut sugar and focus on re-building healthy habits after the holidays. - Two half marathons planned so far. - 40 mile bike ride (will be my longest distance on the bike). - Climb Mt Fuji (I have a work trip to Japan this summer).
Non H&F: Draw everyday and improve my Spanish.
I'd hoped (and planned) on an Oly tri this summer as my big goal, but I have so much work travel coming up this summer and fall that it may not be realistic. I'll re-evaluate once it's all more locked in. I guess my goal is kind of to not beat myself up if I can't get it done this year...
Happy New Year, everyone! I love reading about everyone's different goals for the year.
- Finish my Houston marathon sub 4:30. It's 30+ min slower than my last marathon, but my running has gone so downhill lately that that's seriously become my A goal. - After RnR NOLA, take a month off from running, and re-join a gym -Branch out and do a lot of lifting and different fitness classes so I can strengthen my body overall and maybe even get some glutes back! - Once it's time to start running again, kill it for MCM next fall. - Quit drinking so much. We really only drink, like, 1x/week, but I want to do a major overhaul of my diet and it starts with that!
As a side (random) note, I'm a little sad 2016 is gong to be gone. I know this is small peanuts compared to what a lot of other people are facing, but we had to put our dog down right before Christmas, and I'm sad that he'll be forever in 2016. We're child free, and he truly was the best baby we could ever ask for.

This is the year of not me. I had 29 race days last year and it was just too much, for me, for the family. And racing into shape didn't work.
Hubs has big job changes coming up, the word "relocation" has been vaguely mentioned and he ended the year with work trips to India and London after having never been anywhere really for work, so who knows.
So 2017 is me stepping back - no road races, probably no crits, maybe track, hopefully some cross. More than likely a gym switch in March/April and if that happens, pretty sure I'll join a crossfit gym six blocks away. Maybe that will become my 2017 thing.
It's not too hard to step back because I was so burnt out at the end of last year's race season but it's hard to keep pushing forward when there's no external motivation like a race on the calendar.
I swear I have a happier outlook on 2017 than this post makes me sound!
1. Take the year month by month. 25 workouts in January 2. Stay healthy. No surgeries! 3. 25 workouts in January 4. Go back to ballet in April (just barre). Full class by August. Perform in Nutcracker in December. 5. Start running again in mid-March. Maybe a 5K for end of summer.

I had a hard time with this this year. I knew I wanted both running and CF, but wasn't sure what the CF would be.
For now:
1. Run 2 half marathons 2. Do one full rope climb in CF 3. Backsquat 225 4. Deadlift 260 5. 3 strict pull-ups 6. Lose the 15 pounds I've been trying to keep off. I lose so much, get within 3-5 pounds, then go back to my old habits. Every. Single. Time.

katyintx, sending hugs to you, losing a pet is losing family, my sister's first dog passed almost 3yrs ago and it still hurts us.
I've delayed posting because I don't know how to formulated my 2017 goals since my options are limited. I cannot run outdoors, so cannot train for races, although maybe some treadmill running could be part of my 2017... although I am not sure what the point would be, maybe to change up my cardio routine a bit.
I recently started shbam classes but the teacher is leaving this summer.....and I am actually pretty good so my "wouldn't admit to anyone" goal is to be able to take over her class (not as a paid instructor but just for fun to lead the class for the other women in our compound). Partly not sure if I can be that on top of the choreography and/or if I'd have the time to learn everything correctly in order to lead a class.
I'd like to do more yoga but doing it at home is so unmotivating for me, not sure if this means 1x a week or 2x a month... still thinking about what I could manage. I'd love to be able to do some arm poses and balance poses and inversions but I think I need an instructor for that.
I have some goals! In no particular order 1. Do more yoga 2. Eat less sugar 3. Shoot for a PR in the half and a fast 10k (maybe 42:XX? I have no idea) 4. Run a strong race at Chicago. Doesn't have to be a PR but something that I'm proud of.

2017 was when I started indoor cycle and have been loving it. It has improved my running times and I like seeing progress with distance, RPM's and watts since I love numbers.
My only goals for 2018 are to maintain my balance of running, cycle, and bootcamp for strength. I don't foresee myself signing up for any races, but if my running continues to improve, I may go for a 5k or 10k if I can manage training with work travel.
