Cardboardy cardboard with a side of cardboard sauce. Did I mention I'm congested? We'll probably do shots when the ball drops, but other than that, nothing spectacular here. I'm only eating to prevent nausea from taking meds. I taste nothing.

French bread, homemade pizza and 2 large glasses of red wine so far.
We also have lots of cheeses and salami, prosciutto, and Trader Joe's caramelized onion and feta bites and lemongrass chicken sticks and leftover Christmas cookies in the freezer. I'll probably open some sparkling wine too.
We each made something to contribute to dinner tonight. DH made filet and lobster on the grill. My 10 yo DD picked out a salad recipe from the internet. It was romain with pear and pomegranate and a from scratch poppyseed and toasted walnut oil dressing. It was possibly the best salad I've ever had. DD is turning into a very good and creative cook. My 7 yo son made dessert for us, frozen pudding pops from a homemade cherry chocolate truffle pudding. DD supervised DS while he made his contribution so I didn't have to lift a finger.
DD made cinnamon rolls from scratch today so we'll bake those for breakfast. Then, I have 12 small plates picked out so we'll have something to nibble on every hour throughout the day.
Sushi (Delivered) Crab Rolls (I make them using tortillas, chive and onion cream cheese, fake crab, and Old Bay). Cocktail Shrimp In-Laws went out and got wings and my FAVORITE...
Brie en croute!
This year I did truffle honey and then topped it with a sprinkle of rosemary and basil sea salt.

One of our favorite places was doing a takeout only menu that included: Fried Chicken with truffle honey butter Cheddar/chive corn muffins Pimento mac & cheese with bacon Chocolate toffee sandwich cookies with vanilla bean filling
Everything. We've had a cheese and meat and crackers platter, steamed shrimp, cookies, pizza dip, little smokies in BBQ sauce, and giant cream puffs. Now DH is making grilled cheese. He makes the best grilled cheese. We had prosecco, sparkling rose and now I'm drinking a toasted almond.

Family party with traditional Chicago catering: Italian beef sandwiches, baked pasta, pizza, and fried chicken. So much food. Back home for cheap Champagne.
I cut out the first course because it has identifying details
I think I know where you are! And if so, it is delicious. (I have not had the chef's tasting menu before, but their seasonal menu when we went was fantastic).

Shrimp cocktail Mexican artichoke dip and tortilla chips Sopressata Crudite
What's in Mexican artichoke dip? It sounds like some of my favorite things combined!
1 C. Mayonnaise ½ C. Parmesan Cheese, Grated
1 C. Breadcrumbs
½ tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
½ tsp. Hot Pepper Sauce
½ tsp. Garlic Powder
2 (14 oz.) Cans Artichoke Hearts, drained and roughly chopped
1 (4 oz.) Can Chopped Green Chilies
Cooking Spray
Tortilla Chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl combine mayo, parmesan, breadcrumbs, sauces, and garlic powder. Mix well. Fold in chopped artichoke hearts and chilies. Pour the mix into a well-sprayed oven-safe dish. Top with extra parmesan. Bake for 20 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips.

We're having friends over. I'm drinking a French 75, massive charcuterie platter, shrimp cocktail, TJ's mushroom and fontina flatbread, and probably chips and queso. LOL, one of these is not like the other.
