He is so so cute. Of course, he wants to sleep with you. That's what puppies/dogs do, but you just have to Ignore the puppy dog eyes. Easier said than done though, says the dog owner who's dog is ridiculously spoiled.
I'm not sure about making it smaller. Sometimes Tapatalk has small, medium and large options, but it doesn't always show up.

It's my first full day of being a new manager (I've been avoiding it like the plague) and I'm just trying not to suck. If anyone has any tips or good books to read I'm all ears!

Congratulations!
Try reading "The First-Time Manager" by Loren Belker. I found it on Amazon.
Chapter 2 spoke to my heart and made me most interested. It said, "Don't believe that everyone is happy about your promotion." No truer words especially for a WOC! It seemed to cover so many topics from managing younger generation, managing challenging personalities, and not forgetting about developing yourself along the way. It was pretty good to get started.

Thank you! We're in love! I'm good at "IGNORE" for the whines and big eyes. DH is not there yet - he can't even do it with the kids and especially because him and the dog are best buds and do every little thing together all day long since DH works from home.

What kind is your pup?
He's a mutt. His mom was at the shelter, and they say she was a spitz terrier. They also think he's part Carolina Do.g/American Dingo. Definitely some shepherd in there somewhere.
Here he is being nosy. He was in the back, heard me come in and had to investigate.

He's adorable! He looks like he's good at giving you the side eye. LOL!
Doc is from the Great Dane (obv) rescue. His first people decided they wanted a show dog only and it's highly unlikely that he'll ever show because his tail was malformed in the womb due to his position. I didn't think we'd get him because another family wanted him. They decided that his mask was just too black. I could not believe that one! He's so beautiful in my eyes!
Their loss is our treasure - as long as he sleeps in his luxury condo of a crate so I can function and get to work.
I'm irrationally annoyed at a post where someone said they drink a mocha chai with a shot of espresso. No. NO. That is not chai. Get out with that white people nonsense.

No, this person had a mocha in which the milk was swapped out for chai mix. But it was a mocha.
I interviewed 3 realtors this week y'all and I found one that I really like.
She's a WOC and she blew the other non-WOC realtors out of the water. She had an agenda, a full presentation and her competitive market analysis was so much more in depth and detailed than the other 2.
All 3 urged me to list now but this woman backed it up with data for listing sooner rather than later. She didn't quote me the highest value for my home, she was in the middle of the pack which actually made me trust her more. She was also so knowledgeable in general about the area, specific home issues and brought me sample contracts to peruse.
If all things were equal I would have given her my business anyway but she by far and away was objectively head and shoulders above the rest.
I LOVE this and LOVE finding a vendor who is a POC about business!! I recently found a caterer in Atlanta who was top notch for events at my job site. The activities committee has all agree going forward we will just let him know what kind of event we want to have, and let him do it. He was also VERY reasonably priced.

Later this morning I have the meeting with BabyLiu's teacher to discuss her progress. I'm just as sick to my stomach as I would be if I was called into the principal's office when I was in school. I thought I was past this!

Thank you for the well wishes!
I think the meeting went well. We met with the teacher, principal & a learning specialist. BabyLiu is MUCH improved from when we originally had parent teacher conferences. Being held back a year is still on the table, but they've moved from TOTES GONNA HAPPEN to borderline. No one understands why she's so good at spelling tests and less good at reading. But I got a lot of advice from the specialist on different techniques to use to help her. Focus seems to be her main issue. Like her mother, she's easily distracted by shiny objects. (Example: This morning she was spelling "late" and stopped mid word because a crow flew by & then asked what we were talking about.) I think that as long as a crow doesn't fly in front of me, she should be OK to progress to 2nd grade.
I'm the only one concerned about math. She's apparently middle of the road in that subject. I must expect too much. lol
Also, H has delegated parent teacher conferences to me going forward. He says I take better notes and ask better questions.
So I'm applying for my Canadian citizenship. They ask A lot of questions. Like exactly how many times and the dates I've left the country. I've travelled to Michigan at least like 2-3 times a year. I'm not stamped on my PP for it so I really can't remember all those dates. I also have to show proof that I speak English. I have to know Canadian things. Like their parliament business and about their wars and stuff. I should be getting the study packet in the mail for it soon.
Also I've been apartment hunting for my refugee family...this is so hard picking a home for people to live in. I want it to be perfect and make them happy, Toronto is so flipping expensive. Also my new job is stressing me out and I feel like I wanna die. Oh ya and trump is my country's president now...so there's that too.
A puppy not crated at night, oh my... a huge Great Dane puppy not crated at night, double oh my. Why does he want to crate him at night anymore?
Can we get some pics of said puppy please!
Hope you get some rest soon
Because "I can tell he wants to sleep by us." I can tell I want to sleep without worrying about him meddling.
Here's my first try at posting a pic in Tapatalk.
On his Costco dog bed so you can see his size at 7 months old.
Omg - so huge! He's beautiful You definitely do not want him sleeping on your bed, if only for the fact that there will probably be no room in it for you!
The row house next to ours is up for sale. It caught fire last year and was in bad shape to begin with, so was completely renovated.
I live in a gentrifying neighborhood. I think there is 1 house with white renters but the rest of the block is minorities. But the white people are moving in at record speed in all the renovated row houses and new condos surrounding us.
So it'll be interesting to see who moves in next door. I have fantasies about a young black couple moving in and becoming friends with them. If white hipsters move in I know my boyfriend is going to be annoyed!
