How is Disneyland over spring break?

We went to WDW over spring break in 2016, and it was insanely crowded. Is DL similar, or is it more reasonable? My son's spring break falls in early-mid April this year (April 7-17). I looked up the spring break calendars for some of the larger southern California school districts, and it looks like LA County falls in the same time frame as ours, but San Diego County and Orange County schools are both in March, so they wouldn't overlap. I'm not sure how much of a difference this makes. 

I'll add that we've been to DL three times before, and always in the summer, so we're used to typical summer crowds there. I'm wondering if spring break is similar or worse than that.

Weekdays can be busy but the weekend will be crowded. If it isn't a block out date there will be a lot of locals in the park.

They have brought back the food and wine fest at DCA and that is usually in April. DCA gets busy.
