@notquiteblushing because I'm pretty sure you just did this...
The Harmony Barber shop for a first hair cut- would it be good for a little girl?
DD2 will be 2 1/2, so too young for BBB, so I thought this would be nice for her, but I wasn't sure if it was geared more towards boys as it is a "barber shop."
Yes! They do a good job and they even have pixie dust! It's a hidden gem. We had a later appointment but I stopped in early and they were able to fit us in. I think one of the three hairdressers specialize in the first haircut and the other two do everything else. I liked it a lot. There were definitely a few girls waiting as well.

DD enjoyed it the first time and requested it for her next trip. She has been twice and it was a good experience both times. Neither was a first haircut for her, but she loves the pixie dust.
We did have DS's first haircut there and I was happy with the experience.

They butchered my daughter's hair. I hate to be dramatic but over 2 years later and I still won't get either girls' hair cut anywhere because I literally have a panic attack just thinking about what happened to my daughter's hair last time.

And all I asked was a teeny tiny trim and they cut off 2-3 inches of curls before my husband could yell no. I was with our other daughter helping them get her set up for a cut there as well (hers went fine but she was 11 months and only needed a couple long pieces snipped).

Oh that's too bad. They kept asking me if I wanted to keep going.
We did a first hair cut, which is amazing because you get the ears and a little bag with a lock of hair and a certificate. If you don't want to do a hair cut though you can get just pixie dust (glitter) for free or a style with pixie dust. Usually it's like a braid for girls or a faux hawk for boys and I think it's like $10.
