I just found a good price on a Poly deluxe studio ($300/night with passholder discount) and booked 2 nights.
Anyone stayed here? Did you like it? Is the "villas and bungalows" area different than the rest of the hotel? The guy on the phone said it was a new building but when I look online it sounds like it's just renovated.
We may have our 20 month old with us so I thought the monorail would be convenient. But we may leave him behind if grandma wants to babysit. Is the only good thing about the resort the monorail?
We were wanting to stay at the Beach Club so I'm not sure if I should just do that.
We just stayed at the poly in the dvc part and loved it. The location is great. It's a small resort so totally walkable. My kid loves the pool. Not having to take the bus much was awesome. We are probably now poly for life.
I think that the BC & the poly are both awesome in their own ways - I wouldn't say one is better than the other per se. Depends on what you are looking for. Poly is great for kids if you'll be in the MK a lot. But if you won't have kids, walking to Epcot is unbeatable. We've not stayed in the poly for decades, just passed through & eaten there but it's on the list for the next trip. We looooove the beach club.

YC/BC and Poly are my two (three?) favorite Disney resorts (I tend to lump YC and BC together). The Poly is great because you can use the resort monorail or walk over to the TTC to get on the express monorail to MK and Epcot. I also love the theming and the tropical vibe.

Stayed there last year with DS & my mom. It's a very very convienent resort. You can walk to TTC ( so monorail to Epcot ) or take a boat or monorail to MK ( or take the big boat from TTC to MK) & walk to Grand Floridian. You can watch fireworks from the pool/ beach area of the resort, there are Dole Whips right on site at the resort, Ohanas & Kona are good dining options & Trader Sam's for fun cocktails. I like how compact the resort is & I found the cast members to be the friendliest of any Disney resort I have stayed at.
