Here's a pic from vacation! He slept for like 6 hours and woke up super early but was in a great mood. I think he really did understand he was going to see Mickey!
amaranth- way to go M! Glad potty training was so easy for you guys! Also happy to hear the tantrums are lessening...they are hitting our home very hard these days.
MrsMB- we carry either Cheerios or goldfish in a cup and a straw cup of water everywhere we go. If we will be out longer I bring a pouch as well. Keeps him entertained in the car and stroller 😀 oh, and I sometimes do grapes or blueberries in the cup. I would tell work when you are ready. My boss always knew almost immediately...but because of our losses etc
C turned 2 last month! He is so awesome and I love spending my time with him! I wish we had more one on one time but I think we are finally seeing that light at the end of the tunnel. We just went to the park yesterday while DH stayed home with L for his nap and we got out by ourselves for bagels/coffee/groceries this morning! He is talking up a storm and continues to surprise me with his expanding vocabulary! He is also such a great big brother to L...melts my heart! The bad is the tantrums and sleep regression 😔
L is 16 weeks tomorrow and a much easier baby than C ever was! He's so Happy, laughs, we have little conversations, and he is so cuddly! He is also rolling front to back and had for almost a month now (although not consistently)! He also just rolled to his side today before this last nap...i can't wait for him to roll back to front and sleep on in his tummy...i think it will really help once he gets used to it. Oh, and he was trying to get up on his legs into a crawl position last night...slow down little guy! He weighs a good 16 lbs and is such a chunka! We have been sleep training and I guess it's going ok. He did cry for an hour last night but for the past 3 nights I have only fed 2x, he is sleeping in his crib, unswaddled, and no pacifier. Some naps are even closer to 40 min, which is progress from a few days ago where we had several 20- 30 min naps. Hoping he catches on these next few days...its been really hard on me because I hate hearing him cry MOTN...but I also know he doesn't need to eat more than 2x and definitely not 2.5 hours after going to bed.
I'll be 31 weeks on Thursday! DH is feeling the closeness of the approaching due date. Today he said "31 weeks! Can you believe it?? Only 9 weeks left."
Today we had a growth ultrasound because the OB/GYN wanted to check and make sure my fundal height didn't indicate a problem with the baby. Ultrasound tech said the baby is ~ 3lbs 5oz, so a good size. As suspected by my NP, the measurement is likely affected by me being a petite FTM. It was just weird since most people I'm close to experienced the opposite.
I'm disappointed that I don't have this ultrasound pic to share but when the ultrasound tech took the last measurement, she paused to show me the baby with his/her foot up by their nose.

C is going to be 2 one month from today! She's at a challenging stage, but is amazing.
She's talking so much. Like, 4-6 word sentences! It's crazy.
She just got over a double ear infection- that sucked.
She's been fighting naps and bedtime for a month or more. Screaming and crying before every nap and bedtime. Not fun. But the last few days, it's been getting shorter
Last night at bedtime she said "I love you" to my H 💜💜💜
And she likes to say "hey Mum Mum" to me, lol.
She's testing lots of boundaries lately and is in a throwing stage. And the last 2 days she's started with the "why"s. Omg.
But despite the challenges, she still amazes me every day 💕
MrsMB I did it the same as amaranth. I liked to serve milk with snacks so they wouldn't fill up with it at meal time. At home I try to give healthier snacks but on the go I stick with things like goldfish, animal crackers, etc.
G is amazing. She will be 2 in two weeks! I can't believe it! I miss doing our thing just the two of us but the transition to 2 kids has gone smoother then I would have guessed. She talks in 4 word sentences constantly. Right now she is in such a daddy phase that anytime he leaves the room I swear she is asking "Where did Dada go?". She loves her new trampoline she got for Christmas. We are hoping to enroll her in gymnastics maybe this summer. This week storytime starts back up and next week her music class starts up again so I am looking forward to getting back in the routine of our activities. We have been entering more of the terrible twos with jealousy issues with her sister, tantrums, and whatnot. I can't wait until C is a bit older and they can play together. Even with the jealousy first thing when she wakes up and last thing before bed she asks about her baby sister "where baby go?" and wants to see her.
C is such a sweetie. She is 2 months old today. I feel a 1000x better this go around compared to when G was little. C is a very happy baby. She gives me smiles and laughs everyday. She is growing so fast as well! Her well check is tomorrow and I'm looking forward to seeing her measurements. BFing is going well. We are supplementing 1 bottle a day (sometimes BM, sometimes formula). She has been sleeping better this last week.
Question:
Anyone have suggestions on resources for potty training? G got an Elmo potty book and DVD from MIL for Christmas and really likes both of those. She had been sitting on the potty but has never actually gone on the potty. I'm really in no rush to PT her but would love some idea of how to do it when it comes time for it.
bk1 no real interest in potty training over here yet, either. Our pediatrician said to read books about it so I picked up a few from the library and also loaded some apps/videos on his tablet.

Miss K is 3 months old today. She's trying real hard to roll and she manages to push herself backwards and scoot around on her back across the floor lol. She's in a crappy napper stage where she only naps 30 mins regardless what you do. I've tried putting the paci back and leaving her, car rides and just holding her in attempt to lengthen her naps. But to no avail. I guess she'll grow out of this and I just need to keep up with the good sleep habits. She does sleep 2 big chunks at night so I won't complain. Like last night, down after 730, up at 130 to nurse, then down again until 630.
Any tips to help her tolerate the Ergo? She was fine with it as a sleepy newborn but now she fights it every time I try to carry her in it. We're doing some travelling next month so it would be so much easier to babywear.
bk1 I used the 3 day potty training method with B at 25 months old. She was motivated by the older girls at her daycare who were using the potty already. She told me she wanted to use the potty like Xxx. I said ok great and we took a three day weekend to just do it. By day 2, she had it and we never looked back. We are using pull ups for nap and night though.
OB office just called. In the past, 7 a.m. phone calls weren't always the nicest ones....."Hi, your DH's sperm is terrible like REAL bad....bla bla IVF" (I almost wrecked my car on that one)...and my personal favorite, "You failed the 1 hour glucose." When they called, I just blurted out how nervous I was that they were calling...and the nurse laughed, "Oh, nooooo....this is good news! Your Ultrascreen bloodwork came back normal."
Don't mind me....I'll be hyperventilating in the bathroom until my blood pressure goes down. Yay for good news though!!!
I'm a bit late to the party, but wanted to join in!
DS is so funny and fun. He counts to 10 and thinks he can jump, but he never actually leaves the ground. It is hilarious to watch him squint in concentration, throw his arms up for momentum, and then move his whole body like he's jumping, but his feet never move. I think he's close to learning it and we're having fun watching the process.
He has a bestie at daycare, and my heart melts when we walk in and his buddy runs up to hug and high five him.
We were TTC #2 for a couple cycles (Clomid IUIs with trigger shots), but both failed. Now I am desperately trying to get rid of a cough and cold I have had for five months. I have some specialist appointments to try to figure it out this month. Once it's finally knocked out, we'll probably try two or three more times and then decide to be OAD if it doesn't work. We are so happy with DS and we just wanted to be parents--if it can only be to one, we will consider ourselves lucky that we were able to have him. I will definitely be a little sad, but we'll be okay either way.
Hahaha. He knows, and he's suuuuuper excited. I told him it's going to be his anniversary gift.
We are excited too for you
Oh my gosh, I can't stop laughing. H just brought it up and has apparently forgotten when I said that it would be. He thinks I said it would be for his birthday in October! I told him he's wrong, but he's convinced that's what I told him.
My DS is almost 9 months old. This month he went from rocking on all fours to crawling backwards to crawling forwards. And he figured out feeding himself... sort of. And he can turn pages/flaps in books at appropriate times. All within 3 weeks!

So apparently we're doing away with the paci. I've been hiding it in his crib hoping he'd fall asleep without it. It worked last night! He was mad and looking for it but stayed asleep once he fell asleep. Tonight we didn't even put it in his crib at all. He was mad, but I went back in and held him for a few min and told him it was time for bed. Laid him down, walked out, didn't hear another peep. I'm hoping this is it!
