I am also angry and underwhelmed. Clearly someone knows they have crashed and are missing, or why would a helicopter be searching for them? How is this not on the news? Surely the airport noticed when they didn't land, and that's who sent the helicopter. Why are they not notifying next of kin that people are missing? Ugh.
Lexies character took the first half of the season off because she had baby and like four kids at home. She wanted to spend time with them and didn't show up until mid-season, I don't doubt they killed her off. She prob wanted to be killed off.
I'm so ticked at this show right now. I can't believe they killed Lexi when everyone was hoping she would finally get back together with Mark and left the ending the way they did. This was one of the worst shows episodes ever. I could have cared less for the story lines in the hospital.

It appears I'm alone in this, but I'm glad it's Lexie over Arizona. I definitely thought it was going to be Arizona, but I'm glad it's Lexie. She's had the same damn storyline since George died- Mark. That's all she had. No cool cases, no major character growth, just Mark and distractions from Mark. I didn't really like her and Mark together anyway. I love old Lexipedia, but she's been boring for ages. It was time for her to go.
Cristina had me cracking up when she was all Seattle Grace Mercy Death, why does this shit keep happening to us, I have ptsd I'm not exactly reliable right now, blah blah blah.
As much as I hate him, I kept saying "It's a good thing they met Dr. Owen use-a-pen-for-a-trach-glue-his-skin-to-his-skull-field-trauma-badass Hunt." Maybe he's responsible for their treatment for Mark.
Too bad none of them know how to properly build and sustain a fire though. I'm so pissed they didn't at least end with a helicopter finding them. It definitely should have been a two hour show. It wasn't the best finale, but I liked it overall.

Also, to be fair, she wrote this episode before contracts were finalized. She had to write it in a way to accommodate people not coming back. She had to leave it open for Mer, Der, and Cristina to still die in case they didn't sign a new contract. It's not cool to us, but she didn't have much of a choice.

I refuse to give up hope that Lexie will sputter back to life. I have four months to be in denial. I like it there.
But I'm sorry, if I was the coordinator at the other hospital waiting on a no-show team of surgeons, I damn well would not take voicemail over and over and over again all day. Whoever answered that phone when I called the switchboard would have been running and interrupting Hunt immediately.

While I like Lexie, she's really the one to go. She's done nothing. She probably wanted to be killed off.
And I like Arizona. I didn't like her a couple seasons ago when she went to Africa and was pissy about it, but I like her now. I like that there's one happy couple. And I like a functioning lesbian couple. This show actually used to have some medical drama, not just the craziness of their dysfunctional lives, and Arizona keeps a little of that alive.

Sibil, I never would have pinned you as a Grey's fan.
But yea, I agree with basically everything you said. The last case Mark worked that I remember being interesting was when he pulled the skin down off a patient's face and they did a full on shot of the skin hanging off the skull. It was creepy, and gross and awesome. But hell, that was back when George was still alive.
I think Bailey and Cristina are the two deal-breaker characters for me. I'd quit the show if they left.

Pumpkin, I am greys whore. Even before I went back to school for nursing I was really interested in the med storylines. And despite being mad at it for like 6 seasons I can't quit it. I gave up on private practice, but I can't quit this trainwreck (addison's med stories were still my favorite)
ditto everyone else. I am pissed it was Lexie! She has more potential storyline wise and I'm pissed her death was just kind of.....there. I get they are all in shock, but I wish if it really is the end of Lexie, she would have went out with a bigger bang.
I am hoping that she is just in major shock and will come back. And with Callie's rant to the rest of the residents, it makes me wonder if Arizona won't die. Who knows.
ugh. I am SO UPSET!!!! I wanted Lexi and Sloan to get back together SO BAD!!! I wish some of you had been right and they showed her coughing up blood at the end. So thats it.. she's gone for real?? I keep wishing that maybe next season she will cough up blood and Arizona will be the one to die...
but I am so mad at the writers... they killed her off WAY TO EARLY in the show!
I think I may be the only one who really didn't care that Lexie died. I am usually a crier but I was dry-eyed this entire episode. I found myself hoping that every single character on the plane would die because they were all annoying me so much.
I think it's time for me to quit watching this show, LOL.

Boo that Lexie really is dead.
I agree with pp, why did they continue to leave voicemails for Owen, they should have had him paged, it's an emergency when a plane never arrives.
I can't believe no one at Seattle Grace realized that there was something wrong. Seriously no one thought to call & see what was going on.
And how do they not know how to build a fire? A tiny pile of kindling isn't going to last very long. They're in a forest, they could have easily made a reliable fire.
