A new friend of mine just sent out a fb invite for a craft day at her house. Ugh.
We're supposed to bring whatever craft we want to do- like, from pinterest, or something. And kids are welcome.
I hate crafts. I'm not great with kids. But I feel like I should go, because it's a newer group of friends, and I'd like to keep getting to know everyone better.

Yes! I have pinterest parties at my house! But they're at night and I have wine and desserts and there are no kiddos, so that might make the difference?
unless there was alcohol and good food. in which case, HELL YEAH. and i'd bring a totally wackado out there craft. like, making bloody skulls out of apples or something. just as a silent protest/joining the fun.

No. Because I do not craft.
If you are trying to get to know them better, see if maybe any of them are doing something you might want to learn about, and then bring some wine :-)
In general I'd most likely say no, but if I knew it was a fun group of people, then sure why not. But I'd bring some totally inappropriate/ironic/hysterical craft, just because I would hate being in a room of people who took this kind of thing too seriously.
ETA: I just saw cville's response. Looks like we're on the same page.
high five!
also, i skimmed the part about kids being there.
as a person with kids, i'd probably still go if there was alcohol. before i had kids? NOT EVEN IF WE WERE DOING BODY SHOTS OFF OF CHIPPENDALE DANCERS.

I can't do arts and crafts if my life depended on it. I would go because most likely they will sit around and chat. I would bring a coloring book and crayons or something to show that you have a great sense of humor.
I might not be as funny as I think I am so that could be a really bad idea.

If I wanted to hang out with the people, yes. I would probably bring stuff to scrapbook as I constantly start scrapbooks but get bored working on them by myself. I would also bring booze. And probably leave my [hypothetical] own kid at home.
