My friend's in laws are being held in Chicago right now.
Sorry, killer. If it helps, I know a bunch quality attorneys who are already out there to help. It won't make it easier, but it might make it more just.

So I was looking at the live tweeting of the hearing, and the ACLU was pointing out that the government was as the hearing was taking place the government was putting a Syrian back on a plane to depart the country. So how many people have been deported in the last 24 hours? This opinion suggests those deportations were unconstitutional...but it also limits the stay to those who are here or on the way here. So are all those poor people who were deported in the meantime just screwed?

Omg, I just lit a stranger up on FB because she posted on a friend's post re: protesters. She said "The fema camps are all ready to go. Start putting these people in these camps and watch how fast this nonsense stops."

Latest update is that they're still at the airport but can't get a hold of them. Phones are going straight to voicemail. Havent heard any news in about 9 hours.

National Immigration Law Center says that there are reports that CBP at various airports is not abiding by the stay. In both their replies to the Tweet below and in my FB feed, people are citing lawyers on the ground and family members of the detained as saying the detainees are being told they will be put on planes and/or told to sign a voluntary waiver re: deportation without being told about the stay.

Update: Senator Heller's office just called them and let them know they've been released. They still haven't heard from them yet, but they should be on their way home soon.
