Part of me knows Obama has other things to do today, but part of me wants him to go hard on this and the Priebus tweet. The RNC is calling the president a sympathizer today!
Obama might be busy, but somebody better raise a shit-storm over the disgustingly politicized (and downright false) statements of people like Priebus and Palin.

Obama and his campaign should ignore it - he's got more important things to focus on today and his campaign should try and rise above the fray. However, I fully expect a moveon.org email in my inbox in about 5 minutes.

I guess he's doubling-down on his attack: "I also believe the administration was wrong to stand by a statement sympathizing with those who had breached our embassy in Egypt, instead of condemning their actions. It’s never too early for the United States government to condemn attacks on Americans and to defend our values."

I cannot fucking believe he is doing this. I really can't.

I am expecting a DNC email asking for $3 because "Elle- the Republicans are blaming this tragedy on President Obama. Give $3 to show you stand in opposition to these outrageous statements."
No. When it comes to national security the other side takes the role as the loyal opposition and STFU. This is unprecedented. I have been following elections since 1976. This is beyond the pale.

The WSJ's headlines are: "Obama says 'Justice will be Done'" and "Romney sticks by criticisms of the White House." When the WSJ is siding with the president, you know you're screwed.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Romney should stop talking this morning. NPR said that Romney "released his first statements without knowing that anyone was killed," as if to excuse him, but Mitt's follow-up statements were after knowing and he still sounds like he's grasping at straws to be different.

I'm in the think-even-less-of-Romney camp!
I don't want a POTUS speaking prematurely about anything. We already have the news media for that!

I'll say it again. I still don't get WhyTF he thinks he should be saying anything other than expressing his condolences. He certainly sounds to be speaking on behalf of America, yet holds no position. I just don't get it.

My guess is that he decided to do "Decisive, Cowboy, Fuck-Yeah-Amurrica" in the hopes of creating a buzz among the base.
Ditto. He was trying for a Bush moment. The only difference is, as much as I also disliked it when Bush did it, at least I felt he was genuine and sincere about it.
And Bush was the president. Which, you know, lends an air of legitimacy that Romney does not have.

This was my thought as well. Where does he get off saying anything at all besides giving his condolences? He DOES NOT represent the United States. He needs to sit the hell down and STFU
On the news this morning, they said he spoke before knowing about the death of Stevens....he was speaking to just the riots? Has it changed? I ask because then that could be why he scheduled to speak so early? (I have not read all 5 pages so forgive it already discussed).

No, he specifically mentions the death of a "consulate worker" so he knew someone died. He just didn't know it was an actual diplomat, since, you know, we like to notify families before we announce that shit on the tv.

His statement from yesterday was written before he knew about the death of Stevens. He obviously knew about the deaths before speaking today. Even if he had scheduled the talk yesterday he should have cancelled. I would think his talk was not scheduled before the death of Stevens and the others, but that is just my opinion.

CNN says, after hearing about the Libya attack and the death of Chris Stevens, the Romney camp stands by their statement.
Ah, okay. I am very out of the loop and it was on CBS news where they even said "to be fair Romney didn't have knowledg" or something to that effect. But, yeah, president should speak first.
