I had a sad store bought one this year I miss working with people that have access to the real ones.
H's family is Polish and we make a lot of Polish foods, so I asked if he had ever had these. He has not, but said he saw them at King Soopers last week. I was like, "I've never had one of these things or even heard of them until today, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that my first paczki should probably not be from King Soopers."

A what? It sounds like I need this thing in my life.
Paczki (pronounced: poonch-key) is a traditional Polish treat made before Lent. It's very popular in Michigan and Chicago, not sure about other places.
It's kind of like a jelly donut but it's absolutely not a donut

You can get them year round in Andrew Square in Boston (I lived on the Dot/Southie line right outside of Andrew). That area is known as the Polish triangle in Boston.
