I was finally going to make my first post yesterday on ML and noticed that the Nest decided to be stupid. So here we are.
Side note: I'm drinking 2 buck chuck, merlot, and it may or may not be the reason I'm finally introducing myself.
I'm 25 years old and my husband and I are coming up on our six year anniversary in July. Do the math... We were infants crawling down the isle. At least that's what I'm often told by others when I explain this.
We have three cats in a one bedroom apartment (please don't call animal hoarders on us). We don't have children yet, mostly because we don't want to waste government money trying to raise them since we don't have loads of money but also because I'm terrified of being a bad mom. And pregnancy kind of scares the shit out of me. I work at a job I despise and I'm currently going to school to become a hairstylist. I graduate next month and I couldn't be more excited.
Glad to be joining you all and if you have any questions I'd love to answer.
My favorite swear word would have to be "Fuck". It's so versitile!
I never posted on the Nest, though I wanted to. I always just ended up lurking and then getting back to work or hair.
The first cat my husband I got was the day before my husband proposed, upon reflection I'm hoping the cat wasn't the deciding factor, Oscar. He's my big fat grey tabby.
And I have actually touched a real llama. It was a petting zoo llama and she/he has the sexiest eyelashes ever. Still jealous.
I've been cutting and coloring for years I do probably 15-20 hairstyles weekly and I'd have to say my favorite styles are when girls have long hair and let me go crazy. Their is a Paul Mitchell cut I love to do because it's 7 haircuts combined into one and it is so edgy, yet can be extremely girly too. It's called the shai shai (Shay-Shay). Color is always fun. Highlights are really in right now but I love when people get out of their comfort zones and try brighter or more dramatic colors. I'm going to stop before I get all hair nerd on you.
I would love too. I get like that too with my hair. I woke up late for work and just went in with my hobo hair and didn't have much time during the day to fix it so I went to school with hobo hair. Which made me feel nice and awkward infront of my client.
I'm in central California right now. It's nice because I'm not out of school but I already have a lot of clients. My husband is in a band and since his producer is in Los Angeles it looks like we may move there in the next year or two. If that be the case I would love to join the union there and do styling for shows or editorial work. While I'm here in central valley I will probably work in a shop or just continue making house calls. I'm just excited that it can take me anywhere.
Kimbus, the giving birth part doesn't scare me too much. So if birth is the hard part then I've got nothing to worry about... Except for the not having money and being terrified of being a bad parent. Ugh. Oh and I kind of hate the thought of my lady parts being ripped broken afterwards. Maybe in a couple of years we'll do the whole kid thing.
