I know that everyone is tired of hearing about my trip, but I need to whine.
I'm super grumpy today. I barely slept, I feel crummy, I'm hungry but I can't eat, I didn't bring my blow dryer because I thought there would be one in the room and there isn't, I paid for insurance on my rental car and just found out I won't get reimbursed for it (and no one thought to tell me not to get it), and I haven't done anything yet today that couldn't have been done remotely.
I really wish I could just move my flight home to tomorrow evening instead of Thursday morning.
I feel so accomplished today! Laundry some cleaning and the gym done. Now I'm at our house going to start renos but I'm laying on an air mattress being lazy! (We have an air mattress so that I can lay with DD while doing renos)

katespade - The blow dryer is probably there, just in a weird spot. Check the closet, under the sink, etc. Call the front desk if you can't find it. I can't remember the last hotel I've been in that didn't have one and I travel a good bit.
It's migraine week for me. Despite feeling like my neurologist and I have a hold on my migraines overall, ovulation week seems to still be a trigger. I spoke to my OB about it because I was wondering if there was a way to limit the hormonal fluctuation each month so we could get this last bit under wraps. She basically said that since I'd been on the same (estrogen free mini pill) for 10+ years successfully (aside from when TTC) with no side effects, she didn't love the idea of switching me. She was worried I'd open myself up to a host of new side effects. I tend to agree since migraines are the devil I know, but days upon days of unrelenting migraine each month are wearing on me when I know the source. Anyone know any natural hormone balancing tricks?
I had a migraine last night too, and it was only marginally better this morning. I'm on my period this week, so I imagine the combination of hormones and sinuses have something to do with it.
I have a pile of dishes in the sink and no motivation to empty the clean dishes from the dishwasher and fill it back up.
wanderingenough I've never TRIED THIS for mine...But you could try to put your feet in hot water and an ice pack behind your neck to redirect the blood flow away from the site.
We had L's 6 month appointment and shots this morning. I took the boys to Panera Bread (free bagel for C) and Starbucks before. It was a good appointment but bittersweet as it's likely our last one with her and I am really sad about it (DHs new job doesn't have current insurance). Thankfully she gave me some referrals and I think her top choice is going to work! He got great reviews as well and I was talking to my neighbor and it's their pediatrician as well (and she loves him). So it's the best case scenario given the situation. I told her I kind of hope we somehow end up back at Kaiser (for both myself and the boys) and she gave me her cell number in case they tell me she isn't accepting new patients at the time and she will get us back with her.
Boys are napping now and then we will have a play date this afternoon with our neighbors!
Oh, and I finally heard back from the dentist. We have HMO dental coverage and she is trying to tell me it will be $1800 for 3 crowns. She also quoted $105 for DH filling. He paid $25 last year at a different dentist and same coverage. We won't be going to this dentist...that seems excessively expensive.
We had a great morning out and praise be to God, came home, and we ALL slept for 3 hours. That is the literal definition of a miracle. I feel amazing.
katespade I'd be so frustrated if I traveled all the way there for work I could do remotely. Sorry:(
wanderingenough no advice, just commiseration. I'm right there with you. I've worked with a nuerologist, OB, two nutritionist, and done acupuncture to try resolving my hormonal migraines to no avail. I just got my period back after 2 year of it being MIA (pregnancy and nursing FTW) and like a hurricane back came the migraines. 2 before my period, and then this week 3 with ovulation. It's so miserable to have no solution.
My nutritionist thinks mine are due to a way my body is not properly managing or digesting folate vs. Folic acid. Or something convoluted like that. But the treatment hasn't helped yet so I'm skeptical.

MrsMB - Sadly, I've tried that trick! Doesn't work for me.
amaranth- I hate that you deal with this too. I feel like I should be happy since this is SO MUCH less than I'm used to. We won't get into the cocktail we have had to work up to to get us there--but I literally go through like a month's worth of rescue meds during ovulation week and don't find relief. There has to be a better way. Anyhow, vent over since I know you get it!
