Today MIL and I were sitting at the table. I was holding C on my lap. G ran off to the living room (around the corner, out of sight) and got very quiet. Then I hear my moms voice! G grabbed my phone, called my mom, and put it on speaker phone. She was so proud of herself. LOL. When I went around to see what was going on I just laughed. G was giving me this look like she wasn't sure if she was going to be in trouble. I was impressed! Guess it's time to add a lock to my phone.
So today was one of those harder parenting days. DH has been gone a lot so I've been doing almost all of the parenting. The house is a mess, my temper has been short.. just not good. I kept feeling like I was being short with G when I shouldn't have been. Anyway - I got C to sleep and took G to her room for bedtime routine. G was sitting on my lap and we were singing songs. I was looking right at her and touched my nose to her nose as we were singing.. and she just wanted to stay like that. (heart) She asked to sing the song 2 more times and just wanted to be nose to nose with me. It was that perfect "maybe I'm doing things okay" moments because I just felt that awesome connection and how much that little girl loves me. Toddlers can be such a handful but it just takes that one thing to make everything perfect. That little girl made my life so much bigger and brighter. (heart) (heart)
Aww I love those moments. E can be an absolute terror sometimes but then there are times it's all worth it. He actually said "love you" unprompted the other night and I just about died! I always forget stories but I'm sure I have a couple.
-When H and I carpool, he drops me off before bringing E to daycare. I wasn't going to kiss him one day because I was sick. As I was getting out of the car, he goes "Mommy! Need kiss!" Ok, if you insist
-One day he was playing in the living room with an old diaper box and suddenly he goes "(friend's name from daycare)!" I looked over confused and noticed he meant the kid on the box. Who does look like the daycare friend, lol. I had to tell his mom about it (who is also one of the teachers).
-He's become very opinionated. Saying "go home now" when we were visiting my grandpa and he got bored, saying "all done" when he wanted to be done with his haircut, and "NO CART!" when we go into a store and he wants to walk, lol.
We're always telling L to sit. So she repeats "sit" all day long...everywhere we go....Kroger, Church, Lowe's. Problem is that her "Sit" sounds like "Sh*t." So, I look like mother of the year
We have these sing along books we read to her. I always sway her back and forth to the rhythm as I sing it to her.One day I read it but didn't sway and I look up to see her swaying back and forth
She says, "Tay KEWWWWW," trying to say "Thank you" Every time I hand her something and vice versa.
We ran into one of her daycare teachers at Lowe's on Sunday. The lady saw us before we saw her. We hear, "Is that L?! OH, look honey! This is L I tell you all about. She is one of my absolute favorite babies!!!" DH and I felt like we won the lottery. This is so nice considering all the flack they gave us when she had colic right at the beginning.
B is obsessed with her baby brother. She hugs and kisses him hello/goodbye and loves to lay on my belly and feel his kicks. The other day, she whispered to him "I'll keep you safe always." which is what I say to her before bed. <3 I really hope she loves him this much when he comes out
She's also very into pretend play. She has a whole army of dolls and I hear her concocting elaborate stories involving their shenanigans all the time. While I was cooking dinner the other night, I overheard her putting Lambie in time out for hitting another doll, Jonah. B was explaining to Lambie why hitting wasn't nice and then made Lambie go and apologize to Jonah. I was cracking up.
Not funnt but melt your heart sweet. I put on a dress yesterday and DS said "Aw mama you bootyful....sooooo pretty."
We talk about making good choices a lot and have been doing 123 magic. The other morning the dog was being a little crazy and he said "gog stop! You no making good choices. Go to your crate!" Lol.
Well M says hilarious things all the time. This morning he passed gas while getting dressed and was worried he pooped. He exclaimed "oh good, no poop. Phew. That would be so so so yucky. It would get on the floor and be too hard to clean up so you would have to just throw away our WHOLE house! So glad I didn't poop."
Ha.. H is in the kitchen looking for something and E is finishing dinner at the table. Suddenly he says "Daddy farting. Daddy pooping." I started cracking up and could barely tell H what he said. I have no idea why he even said that, H claims he didn't fart.... lol.

Kids and talking about farting. G followed me all around the house last night and kept saying "mama farted". I didn't even fart!

Lately? Mainly driving me nuts, with a couple cute things thrown in just to make sure I don't ship him off to live with grandma.
We went out for pizza last weekend and the restaurant didn't have any white milk. They DID have chocolate milk. I decided he deserved a treat since he had never had that before. He took a swig and seriously looked at us like "omg! someone accidentally melted candy in this!"
Bonus pic of how H dressed him while I was on work travel last week. I asked if it was ninja turtle day at daycare.
