Ok I am looking at this makeup. I am seriously a t-shirt and jeans kinda girl. Is red lipstick too much for that? I like the look, it just seems fancy.
I actually want to go to the gym tomorrow, for the first time in years. I've worked out in the meantime, but I have this urge to hop on an elliptical or rowing machine.
OMG. NO. Listen. Let us help you. Makeup is so much goddamn fun.
I finally bought some tinted moisturizer. I only use it on special occasions or when I think I look particularly bad/tired. I know it is not something I am going to do on a regular morning because I wake up too damn early. I own mascara that I use a few times a month. That is as far as I have gotten with makeup. I do have an assortment of lip balm though.
I'm the same way. I used to wear presssed powder and mascara daily then I gave up completely. Now it's just moisturizer with SPF and an eye cream. Someday I'll get back to it. Maybe.

If the bright lipsticks seem too much of a transition for you, go for a softer color. Verve from MAC is a great nude/brown for everyday. Capricious is a plum that isn't super bold, but has some oomph. Creme in Your Coffee is a neutral pink that is pretty too. Oak lipliner is another easy every day. Line the lips, throw on a soft gloss and go.
Mascara also opens your eyes and makes you look more awake. IMO, it's worth the 2-3 minutes to put on more regularly.
Your skin is gorgeous, so I wouldn't fuss that up too much if you're not looking for a regular routine. I'd definitely recommend SPF though. Blush if you're feeling saucy.
brandnewday I switch moisturizers a few months ago and it has hyaluronic acid. I love it, but it doesn't have SPF like my previous one. So now I have to find something that does. My skin completely turned against me when I turned 36 so despite the fact that my routine was extremely minimal, the stuff I was using stopped working.

I love Creme in Your Coffee. I need to go get another tube.

First Aid Beauty has a moisturizer that has SPF. They make products that are safe for skin with eczema. Their products are really gentle. I use their repair cream and their cleanser. Their cleanser is my favorite. Cleans off all of my makeup from the day.
I would maybe stop at a Sephora and ask for some skin care samples. That way you can test them on a small part of your neck by your jawline to see if you have irritation. They should be able to find some products made for sensitive skin. Peter Thomas Roth has a powder SPF too, you just brush it on. I don't think it has pigment so hopefully it wouldn't leave a dull cast.
Trying to find the right balance for makeup and skincare can be a bit of work at the beginning. Once you get the groove of it, it can be pretty quick.
Another quick tip I use frequently for color is to type in the name of the product with "swatch" in google. I check out the images of the color, the finish, etc. I'm somewhat close in color to Temptalia, so her blog is a go to. You can add "MAC [product name] on dark skin" and options will come up. That way you can find a skin tone similar to yours in the results and see if you like the way it looks.
brandnewday -- I haven't worn MAC lipstick since college, but I followed the link and 1) I used to own 4 out of 5 of those lip pencils, and 2) I really need to buy that first combo, especially since it's on sale. Thank you!
andwhat -- My new favorite pinkish neutral that works on a variety of skin tones is YSL vinyl cream lip stain in #407 Carmin Session. A step up from lip balm, but not as bold as a bright lipstick, if that'd be an easier way for you to ease into lipcolor.

I get tired of this place sometimes. I'm a snarky as hell but it isn't without merit. I'm not going to go into a thread telling someone their an asshole for no reason. I think some people do it just to show some type of power. It's so damn weird.
I especially think they do it to posters who aren't as popular or willing to throw out a big F you. Really even if you throw out a F you, it's not like anyone else joins in. It's like oooh, this idiot is a popular poster we shouldn't say anything. WHO CARES if someone is popular on here? WTF.
Damn woman, you have great skin. OK so....I feel like you would look good in bright colors for lips, but not pale/pastels. One of my favorite fushias is Vice lipstick in Firebird by Urban Decay....I think you'd look great in that. How do you feel about reds?
Thank you. You too 05heel . I am not opposed to anything. My lack of wearing makeup is sensitive skin and sheer laziness. Is that something I can buy online? That is my biggest barrier, I find makeup store intimidating. And department stores. I like small boutique type places.
I do too.
Start small. You'll build up. I'm not at the level of the hauls people post on Makeup but I do think it can make such a major difference.
1) Start with a tinted moisturizer. 2) Find a mascara Here are a few: Great Lash mascara cheap and easy, DiorDior Mascara is fabulous, Benefit too. 3) Lip Gloss - Since you don't wear much makeup, I'd actually go to lipstick as a starter and then build up to lipsticks.
Buttttttttt I do like Firebird by Urban Decay.
My biggest advice is don't let the makeup stores intimidate you. I struggle with this, and I don't know why.... However, once I just forced myself to say screw it and find the right products. Since that particular time, I stopped caring. Why should I allow myself to feel judged by some random person who doesn't think about me 5 minutes after I walk by them and likely isn't even judging me? They are there to help you, utilize them and don't settle for someone who isn't helpful.
We're going to Italy August 20th and I'm excited ish but I feel like I've lost my excitement for life. Italy jut feels Meh now. I'm losing my spark yo.
