I'm off my regular job today. I'm enjoying my coffee before I do a workout. I may need to go to work later, just waiting for H to confirm if I'm needed today. If not, it's housework day.
We have financial statement training today. Trainer we've had before and he's awful. Yesterday we were talking crap about him (loudly!) when someone informed us he was already in the building, sitting in the conference room next to us. Oops. Awkward.
I slept like crap last night, like I always do after I get a tattoo. Then I woke up to crummy work-related news. So, I'm ready for this day to be over already. All I want is a coffee and a muffin, but I'm not supposed to have either of those things.
bk1 I hope you all get a nap. Teething babies are so hard. ☕🍵🍩
katespade is the rough sleep from pain, or does that tattoo affect you some how?
ewall oops. Maybe He heard and will be more interesting now
estrellita snow??? I'm so sorry. That's awful. I'd probably cry if we got snow now.
I actually slept really well last night. It was raining and the perfect temp so I left the windows open and fan on. It was so soothing. Sort of felt like vacation sleep
amaranth - From the pain. It's super sensitive, so every time you move it rubs against the sheet or the blanket or the pillow or another limb or the dog or whatever else might be near it. I tend to be a restless sleeper, so I move a lot and every time I do it's just enough pain to wake me up. It calms down pretty quickly after the first night, though.

April is almost over but I finally cashed in one of my free Panera bagels! Woohoo!
I had to drop a return package off at UPS and while I was there I asked if they sold stamps...they guy said yeah, you have to buy a book. No problem, that's what I wanted. Rings me up and says it's $12. I tell him that's not right and he tells me yeah, we charge extra. Uh....what? So now I'm wondering who buys stamps at UPS and pays a 30% premium.

Can I take an excedrin for my migraine?? I EP and supplement with formula.
Google says it isn't safe while breastfeeding because it has aspirin in it. If you supplement with formula, though, maybe you could pump and dump until it's out of your system?

amaranth We did tapestry beige in the den, stonington gray in the playroom, and revere pewter in the foyer. I think it turned out really well. The den is paneling so the difference is huge. We have to put the furniture back before I take the after pictures.

Oh good, there is a measles case in the county E goes to DC in. He's of course up to date on vaccines but still. Apparently there's a case in the state where the kid had one of the MMR vaccines. Ugh. Hope that all goes away before #2 comes along...

((Hugs)) bk1 and katespade. Hope you ladies are feeling a little more rested. Today is almost over!
Busy and stressful day here. Had to make a ton of phone calls for insurance/leak repair stuff. Good news is that the leak is fixed and dry wall is scheduled for next week, which will take 3-4 days. I also managed to clean the downstairs bathroom, kitchen, two loads of laundry, and go to the bank. Waiting for the water damage company to come pick up their equipment any minute and then L will nap. I also have to do Costco tonight and pack up for tomorrow's trip to Disneyland, which was just planned this afternoon!

There was a mini outbreak somewhat near us a month or two ago and the cdc did a great job isolating the cases and keeping it from spreading. Or the state? Whoever does thay stuff. It was 3 vaccinated kids st the same school that I think were exposed in a grocery store or something super random.

I try to avoid arguing with my crazy, anti-vax SIL, but we got into it one day when she tried to claim that no one gets measles anymore and there hasn't been a case of measles in like decades. Then, when I corrected her she tried to tell me that it doesn't matter because measles isn't a big deal anyway. Sure, crazy lady, it's only... you know... the reason my mom almost went blind as a kid.
After that, she just huffed and tried to change the subject.

Crazy! We have like 26 or 28 confirmed cases in the state but just the one in my area. Just sucks for the kids that can't get vaccinated for health reasons or are too young!

Grrrrrrrrrrr.
So she'd rather her kids get a completely preventable disease because of a disproven study about autism? I'd much prefer an autistic kid over a sick or even dead kid if that were true. Just saying. This is an area I feel super strongly about obviously lol.

My good friend just told me she was admitted into the hospital for chest pains. I wish she told me earlier so I can check in her.
We are out of propane now. Apparently our upstairs neighbors had something in front of our tanks when they tried to deliver last month. We get delivery ever 3 months. Instead of calling us they made a note in the computer. I didn't notice since I paid with a money order, still taped to our tank over 30 days later. So now we have no propane and if they deliver off delivery it's an extra $100. WTF! I told H he needs to fill our grill tank tomorrow and hook it up. I refuse to pay an extra $100 because our upstairs neighbor blocked the tanks and the propane company didn't contact us to tell us they couldn't deliver. We didn't even get a payment notice. I'm not happy!

She's koo-koo bananas. Like, she seriously drank the kool-aid, to the point where I can't be around her. Avoiding her is the only way to keep the peace. I've already told H that all bets are off once we have kids, though. I won't allow her or her un-vaccinated kids around our kids. He thought I was kidding at first, so we had to have a pretty serious conversation to agree on guidelines. She will not be welcome at the hospital when our kids are born, she will never be left alone with our kids, her kids will not be able to be around our kids...
It will start WWIII, but our kids' safety is worth it.

katespade I agree. It's just not worth the risk. If they had a legit reason I'd probably feel differently. Not vaccinating is one of the few things I'll judge a parent about.
katespade the SIL that has had the run ins with child services keeps offering to watch our kids for different things and we used to deflect or make excuses but we're running out of them and I'm worried we will be forced to say we just don't trust her. I don't know why she can't take a hint and let it drop after we have said no SO MANY times. She can't keep her own kids safe, so I know she wouldnt watch mine well. They gave unlocked guns in the house, feed the kids moldy food and play in poop. Why on God's green earth would I leave her my kids??? Thankfully my husband agrees, but still...
