I make the cauliflower rice at home when cauliflower is on sale but it doesn't come out the same. The store bought ones have a better texture, imo. Yay for industrial food processing in this case! I wish our costco carried this product; I would totally buy a 5lb bag of this stuff. Love it. And riced broccoli, too.
I got some two weeks ago at Costco, I didn't realize it was a regional thing.
It's still sitting in my freezer because I don't know what to do with it?

This is dumb.
There is a device called a ricer for smashing vegetables (and other things, I guess, I never tried) that has nothing to do with actual grains of rice. Is the rice lobby opposed to that, too?

I have one but I've only ever used it on potatoes.
I like cauliflower. I like rice. I do not like cauliflower "rice" because, dammit, if I want rice, I don't want no veggie masquerading as my starch du jour.
Now I want rice. Possibly with a side of roasted cauliflower.

What brand do you have? I got a cheap one last Thanksgiving that bent the first time I tried to use it, and now it's useless.
This is so ridiculous, but I also drink alterna-milks. I love stir-fry cauliflower rice. What I don't like is zoodles. That is not fooling anyone. The taste isn't bad, but I can't get over the difference in the texture between that and the real thing. Plus I loooove pasta.
Do you know what the rice industry should be on top of? Gluten free snacks/food.
I have Celiac and I would love to have Rice Krispie Treats or regular Rice Krispie cereal, but it all has freaking barley in it I have found some generic rice cereal that doesn't have barley. Still - it seems like a big missed opportunity for the rice people.

I've used zoodles in stir-fry. They're not bad that way, they just kind of bulk up the meal and don't have a really strong taste. I can't imagine serving with spaghetti sauce or meatballs, though. Same reason I wouldn't use spaghetti squash. Eating the noodles is part of the joy of eating spaghetti for me.

Go on Pinterest and find a cauliflower fried rice recipe. Or use it like you would regular rice in stir fry

I will try it that way.
This is really good. I add veggie sausage and/ or canellini beans and toasted pine nuts to it to boost it up a bit.

If they couldn't use the word "rice," what could they call cauliflower rice then? Shredded cauliflower? Itty bitty cauliflower?
I do love cauliflower RICE.
I've seen one brand call their product "cauliflower pearls."
The Roundy's version I bought the other day is "rice-shaped cauliflower", which made me laugh.
The tots make me really sad because they have dairy in them. :*( I would gladly attempt to moderate my dependence on the tater variety with these, but no can do.
