And also, re: the thread where that occurred. Wasn't it laurenpetro defending her right to still patronize her racist hairdresser?
Yup.
Each time I see her post I'm like "was I imagining that?!" because it's never come up again.
What are you talking about? It comes up all the time.
That said, I don't know why people get all worked up and bewildered about how and why people continue to respond to various posters. In the case of MW, some people came right out and accepted her apology or indicated that they didn't care in the first place. I'm sure some people never really cared about the chick with the racist hairdresser. I could go on and on. It's what happens when you interact with a ton of people with whom you likely have very little in common.
I like to keep my expectations low around here. In real life, I would never enter a room full of white women and expect to have a great time and leave with great memories. This is no different to me.
Was this the thread where she asked if she had to feed the student?
Yes. I imagine in her head she thought she could just get a few loaves of bread and a jar of peanut butter and toss it at the kid and go "There ya go!"
She also said some dumbass comment about "How expensive can a teenager be?"
I'll start by saying I didn't see that thread. But did she think she was going to profit off of having an exchange student? I mean, the stipend is because you're supposed to feed, house and otherwise support the exchange student! I know there are probably minimum acceptable levels and all, but aren't you supposed to take the kid to concerts and museums and shit (if it's within your means/the stipend/otherwise accessible)?

I remember seeing her get asked about it once afterward but not other times?
I mean, I'm not surprised she didn't stop going to her, because a good, non-racist hairdresser IS so pesky to find. .
And also, re: the thread where that occurred. Wasn't it laurenpetro defending her right to still patronize her racist hairdresser?
Yes. She is not willing to end friendships with Trump supporters because she can change their minds.
I wonder how that's going!
Both 05heel, and I said something about it last week? She replied letting me know I could say her fucking name, and then something about the working she is doing and process or some shit. Now all that shit could kinda be acceptable ( because I DO think it's white folks job wot deal with this shit) but when I read the original mediocre haircut thread I saw how nasty she was.

Yes, so that she could do renovations to her house.
So she didn't want to really host an exchange student, she wanted a lodger she could take advantage of? Nice! Asshole.
What influences your decision to stay and post when you've been flamed to high heaven and back? What's your experience like after the fact? Do you wonder whether it'll come up again, and just kind of hope it never does? I'm intrigued, since this appears to be a pattern with so many.
People accepted her apology, and some didn't mind in the first place. However, there are plenty of people who throw up the middle finger to MW. I personally ignore the one with the hair..............

the ellipses! I'm dying over here.
Her ass is raggedy both inside and out. So unfortunate.
I personally think she is cracked and often wonder how the hell she is a lawyer. Like @kirkette said, NQB was a major contributor to the bs that Kirkette was mean and scary. She got that ball rolling and then just walked away like she had no part in it.
She also posted on the Disney board about her and her husband leaving the toddler son (son -#2) In the hotel room to go watch fireworks on the beach.
The original, "Why are people so concerned with change a baby's diaper. Can't you just leave them on a pee pad, like pets?" " post was what started the side eye for me, and I kept side eyeing all the way up to the most recent, "Our Preschool is persecuting our baby for not walking" post. So committed to the slop, and never taking responsibility. True Beckery!
This is the one I was coming here to mention. She asked why people bother putting a diaper on a baby if they just have to change it again an hour later. Can't the baby just lay on a water-proof pad in the crib so it can shit and piss as much as they want without mom or dad needing to change them.
She also recently got into a HUGE fight with her husband over him being "stupid" for the way he cooks his eggs. I mean, we all have dumb fights with our spouses but she was seriously off the handle with that one.

I agree wholeheartedly that it's white people's job to get our collective shit together and that means checking one another. Her attitude in that thread suggested to me that she wouldn't be doing much of that, though. It was more like "well, where I live, everybody's a Trump supporter, so fuck off for even asking me about it."

I remember being on vacation a few years ago and being enthralled with multiple MM threads about a GTG, and I swear it was NQB who declared it unfair that she wasn't invited and then people were like 'I guess you can come..?' And others were like 'nope, not invited' and it went on and on. Yes...no?

Yeah at this point, nobody should be wringing their hands and going But What Can I Do? Go get your white people.

Which, the "everyone is a trump supporter here" argument is so stupid. I currently live in one of the reddest states and my hairdresser, yoga teacher, and friends do not include a single trump supporter. And I'll be honest and say that I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to cut anyone out post-election. And you wanna know why? Because people who supported trump are not making that decision in a vacuum--they are assholes who lack empathy in other aspects of their life too. Therefore, I just never clicked with those people. It's not THAT hard, unless you want a million friends and don't care if they're jerks.

Yep! And I think it was @bellakitty who promptly and correctly called her out.

While some are certainly assholes who lack empathy in other aspects of their lives, many trump supporters seem like nice people. It's damaging to paint such a limited picture of trump supporters.
ETA: I've done a terrible job of conveying my point. Please read follow up posts.
If this is directed at mishy, I don't think she's defending Trump supporters. I think (and she can correct me if I'm wrong) she's saying that not all Trump voters are obvious assholes. There are plenty of people I was surprised to learn voted for Trump.

Well, if they live their lives in a way that would make me think they are not assholes who lack empathy, but still support Trump, I am going to assume they are idiots who don't have a whole lot of critical thinking skills and can't seem to grasp the idea of cause and effect.

Wait. What?
I mean, you can't say, so and so is nice, so they must not be a Trump supporter. They may seem nice or have empathy, but that doesn't mean they aren't assholes who supported trump.

IDK, if my husband continues to overcook his scrambled eggs in the morning and stink up my house I might lose it.

So many people want to bury their head that only "jerks" voted for Trump and continue to live in bliss that their own friends, families and hairdressers, while nice people, are in fact raging assholes.
