I searched it on Facebook and not only did I find that one of my "FRIENDS" added me to a Lipsense group that I didn't even know about, I found that pricing.
I fee like it can't be healthy. Doesn't it burn when applied and hen it lasts allllll day? Unnatural!!
Yep, it kind of burns because of an alcohol in the gloss. I have to apply the clear gloss pretty regularly for it to last, otherwise it kind of dries out on my lips. I've had fleeting thoughts about how maybe we'll find out 10 years from now it's causing cancer, but for now I look PRETTY!!!!
So, is it just a really expensive lip stain you then have to gloss over?

No, it's not a stain.
And to clarify, the $55 is for a color, a clear gloss, and a remover. The color alone is $25.
NO MORE QUESTIONS. I don't want to be known as the Lipsense expert on the board, dammit!
Beyond it being a pyramid scheme, when you start calling yourselves "princess" and "queen" any notion that people will take it seriously is gone. Can you imagine a company, male driven, calling themselves "Prince" and "King"? (maybe some do in private, who knows) Come on!
I am not putting this down as a general way to garner extra income, but I think the cutesy titles make it a joke.
MLMs in general prey on women, and they often use self-esteem as a way to do it. They have a certain psychology behind how they build you up, recognize you, get you craving that, etc.
And Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour works like Lipsense, but is about $7 on Amazon instead of $55. Or you can buy it at Walgreens and not have to call the cashier "Princess."

How many people reading this thread right now put on chapstick? No? Just me?
Also---I can't imagine caring about the color of my lips enough to spend $55. I'm happy if I can style my hair for the day before I run out the door instead of a messy bun. Lipstick/gloss is one of those things I own like 10 of and pretty much never use.
"Why would you ruin perfectly good peanuts by adding candy corn? That's like saying hey, I have these awesome nachos, guess I better add some dryer lint." - Nonny
I have some lipsense that I got as a gift, I do not like it. Nothing should burn like that when you put it on your lips.
I much prefer Kat Von D's lip stain...it's $20 at sephora and I think it lasts just as long as the lipsense - only issue is I don't think KVD has a gloss finish. Oh, and it is removable with normal means of make-up removal.
Also wait there's ALCOHOL in the gloss? Doesn't it dry the fuck out of your lips? That sounds awful.
I don't think in the gloss but in the color, yes. You put the color on first and it definitely burns and dries the shit out of your lips lol. Which is why you need the gloss on top. If you don't reapply the gloss (or at least A gloss--a cheapie $6 gloss works just as well IME) regularly, the color sort of peels off and your lips look like shit.
why the hell would anyone want this? and for $55, assuming you buy everything?
The price of lipsense is on par with most premium/prestige (whatever ulta calls them) cosmetics brands. I haven't looked into it much but did buy a color and the gloss to use for dance recitals (for my kid, which may be a confession since it burns your lips - though she didn't complain and she's high maintenance and loves to complain). My impression is there a wider variety of color compared to drugstore brands and I do think it works better than the longwear MAC I've used in the past. It seemed like it worked better than the Maybelline we used last year for recital. Mostly what I liked was it didn't move once it was on. Kids are a pain to put makeup on and my daughter had a bunch of costume changes so I was worried about her smearing longwear lipstick all over her face.
I spend a lot on lipstick though so I didn't think the price was too bad for a color and a gloss. We will use it again next year I think.
I'm getting out because the only way you can REALLY make money is recruiting people to be on your team.
The company isn't in a good place right now with their stock issues, so I didn't feel comfortable signing people up underneath me. Plus, my friend and I are skeptical about the company in general.
The highest margin of profit you can make on any of the product is 50%. And to get a 50% margin, you have to spend over $750 a month on products. If you spend less, your profit is 20-40% which isn't very profitable after you include taxes and shipping the company charges you.
